BOATS UNLIMITED NC TEAM TOURNAMENT BASS TRAIL QUALIFIER #4 RESULTS Saturday April 12, 2014 ~ Falls Lake ~ Ledge Rock Wildlife Ramp

Date:

412-141st1st Place Team (Chad Emory on Left..Father, Tim, on right.)

412-14BigFishBobby Matthews with big fish of 9.30lbs!

Finally got a beautiful Saturday for the Boats Unlimited NC Team Tournament Bass Trail qualifier #4 at
Falls Lake. 89 teams enjoyed the beautiful weather, a fair day of catching bass
and the best BBQ meal ever,
compliments of Andy Barnhart, owner of The Prop Doc in Zebulon!

It was about 60 degrees that morning with
very little wind and around 79 that afternoon with 10 mph winds. Water temps ranged from 61 to 64 depending
on the area fished. Actually a great day for fishing but maybe bass bedding & the weak cold front coming thru

put a halt to a good bite!
The Father/Son duo of Tim & Chad Emory, flipped their way to the winners circle catching 5 bass weighing
26.83 lbs. The Emory team won $1,470 for 1st, TWT 1st place of $1,400 and the Boats Unlimited NC 1st Place
Bonus of $750 for a grand total of $3,620.

Another Father/Son team of Randy & Josh Brown took 2nd with 5 bass weighing 22.90 lbs winning $860. Big
fish for the day was a nice 9.30 pounder caught by the 5th place team of Bobby & David Matthews worth
$1,232 bringing their total winnings to $1,752.
Only 161 fish were weighed in for a total of 527 pounds for an average of a little over 3 lbs. each. We had
numerous fish over 5 lbs. and all the fish looked very healthy. Hot baits for the day were flipping jigs, c-rigs,
shakey heads, spinnerbaits and jerk baits.

I want to thank all the anglers that participated and all our sponsors that support this trail.
The next Boats Unlimited NC Team Tournament Bass Trail tournament will be at Kerr Lake on April 26th,
out of Flemingtown Landing Wildlife Ramp.
