Smith Mountain Lake Bassmasters would like to thank the 22 teams that braved the frigid early morning temperatures this past Sunday and participated in our open tournament. The tournament was held from 7:00am to 3:30pm out of the State Park. Fishing was good despite the cold as 9 limits (5 fish) were weighed. The team of Aaron Falwell and Ray Miller took home the $1,000 first prize with a limit weighing 20.24 lbs. The following teams also placed:
2nd Place – Ben & Brandon Reynolds – 17.49 lbs.
3rd Place – James Cassiday / Robert Hoyt – 16.65 lbs.
4th Place – Tom Seaman / Nelson Elliot – 15.48 lbs.

Big Fish – James Cassiday / Robert Hoyt – 6.22 lbs.

Smith Mountain Lake Bassmasters meets every 3rd Wednesday night at 7:00pm at the Moneta Library. If you missed this tournament and would like to participate in the future, SML Bassmasters will be holding two more open tournaments out of the State Park this year on May 16, 2015 and October 25, 2015.
