Billy Bledsoe & Brian McDonald Win Piedmont Bass Classic #3 April 2nd 2016 on Falls Lake

Date:

PIEDMONT BASS CLASSICS $10,000 SPRING TEAM BASS TRAIL QUALIFIER #3 RESULTS
Saturday April 2nd, 2016 ~ Falls Lake ~ Ledge Rock Wildlife Ramp

The 2016 Piedmont Bass Classics $10,000 Spring Team Bass Trail Qualifier #3 at Falls Lake produced another  great turnout for the PBC Trails!!  The weather started out great with air temps about 59 degrees in the am on up
to 69 in the pm but the bottom fell out right after blastoff and it rained off and on until about 1:30pm. Water temps  averaged 67. Winds were quiet in the am and blowing up to about 10 in the pm. A whopping total of 93 teams
participated with most all of them weighing in fish. The bite at Falls is really being affected by the up and down weather patterns coming thru the area and the cold fresh water rains associated with them. It’s just up & down.

Billy Bledsoe & Brian McDonald topped the big field weighing in 5 bass at 27.62 lbs. and along with winning the TWT and with a check coming from Skeeter Boats Easy Money, their winnings will top out at $6,485!!! The team found a honey hole early on and it was loaded with some nice bass that nibbled on their chatterbaits!!

Jonathan Phillips & Josh Whitford took 2nd place with 5 fish weighing 23.63 lbs. They also won 2nd Place TWT and 1st Place Big Fish (8.73 lbs.) for a whopping total of $3,035.

The 2nd Place Big Fish (8.16 lbs.) was caught by the 19th place team of Michael Corbishley & Kyle Albers netting them total winnings of $658.

279 fish were weighed in for a total of 866 pounds for an average of 3.10 lbs. each. Most of the fish were caught on WLS shaky heads, Sharp Shooter jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits and jerk baits in 8 foot of water or less. Water
temps are very important now and bass are starting to bed in the shallower water.

I want to thank all the anglers that participated and all our sponsors that support this trail. Our next tournament is Saturday April 9th, the Piedmont Bass Classics 150 Shootout Open for gas powered boat with 150hp or less
