87 teams arrived for the 2016 Piedmont Bass Classics $10,000 Spring Team Bass Trail Final Qualifier #7 at Falls  Lake to compete or complete! Many had to fish this one to qualify for the Championship June 18th at Jordan.
The weather started out great with air temps about 72 degrees in the am on up to 92 in the pm. We got hit with a big thunderstorm right after noon and another around 1:30pm. The rain did stop just in time for the 3 pm weighin.  Water temps averaged 82. Winds were quiet all day except during the storms. It’s post spawn now for the most  part and bass will fall back to deeper water for the remainder of the hot weather. Anglers should still get a good  top water bite early am and towards dark however.

Jimmy Holland & Richard Green beat the heat and the field weighing in 5 bass at 25.37 lbs. and along with  winning the TWT and with a check coming from Skeeter Boats Easy Money, their winnings should top out at
$4,200!!!

1st Place Team..Holland on left..Greene on right.

William Small & Bryan Perry took 2nd place with 5 fish weighing 25.30 lbs. They also won 2nd Place TWT and  2nd Place Big Fish (7.52 lbs.) for a whopping total of $2,116. Jaimie Fajardo & Josh Hooks won 3rd place with 5 weighing 25.29 lbs. and took home $665. Only 8 100th’s of a pound separated the top 3 teams! Now that’s close.1st Place Big Fish (8.64 lbs.) was caught by the 10th Place Team of Matt Harrison & Rock Goss. They collected $1,452 for their efforts!

256 fish were weighed in for a total of 834 pounds for an average of 3.36 lbs. each. Most of the fish were caught on WLS shaky heads, T-rigs, wacky worms and crankbaits in 6 to 12 feet of water. Now is the time to learn how to
structure fish deep, if you don’t know how to, so your summer bite will be more productive.

I want to thank all the anglers that participated and all our sponsors that support this trail. Our next tournament is Saturday June 11th, the Piedmont Bass Classics Metal Mania Invitational for gas powered aluminum (metal)
boats with 115hp or less motors at Falls Lake out of Ledge Rock Wildlife Ramp. All the info can be found at this
