Bomber signs Lee brothers
Matt and Jordan Lee are now Bomber pro staffers
FORT SMITH, Ark. – Matt and Jordan Lee, the Auburn University brothers who advanced to the Carhartt College Series Bassmaster Classic Finals Bracket to fish against each other for a spot in the Bassmaster Classic, have signed to fish for Bomber Lures. Matt won that event and will fish the Classic at Oklahoma’s Grand Lake in February; Jordan is currently ranked as the No. 1 College Angler according to Bass Rankings.
In addition to Bomber Lures, Matt and Jordan also will represent Booyah Bait Company, YUM Soft Plastics, Heddon Lures and Smithwick.
“The Good Lord has blessed me with some incredible days on the water over the past year, and I am so grateful,” Matt said. “Winning the College Bracket has, of course, earned me a chance to fish in the Classic, but also has opened many doors in the fishing industry. Now, I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with some of the biggest and most-used brands in our industry.”
Jordan Lee became the top-ranked college angler by winning or placing near the top in several prestigious tournaments, including a win at the 2012 FLW College Fishing tournament at South Carolina’s Lake Wylie. He also won a BFL tournament at Lake Guntersville during the past year. Jordan is a strong competitor in college and professional fishing despite the demands of completing his senior year at Auburn.
“These two men are super competitors, but what may be more important is that Jordan and Matt also are principled and honorable individuals,” said Melinda Hays, pro-staff coordinator for Bomber Lures. “We are so happy to have them on our team. Matt and Jordan have shown they have the character we demand from our pro staff, and they both are fantastic anglers. They are strong competitors we believe will be a real force in professional fishing for years to come.”
The two brothers fished as partners in the Bassmaster College Classic and finished second to the Oklahoma State University team. The top four teams in that event, however, then competed head-to-head with the winner qualifying to fish the Classic. The finals featured Matt versus Jordan, resulting in an emotional final weigh-in for the entire Lee family.
“It was a great experience fishing against Matt for a shot at the Classic,” Jordan said. “I admit I was a little bitter to know I was that close to my dream coming true, but I am excited and happy for him. He’s not satisfied with just making it there, so look for a strong finish — he definitely has the skills to do it.”
