A record was just broken for Piedmont Bass Classics (as far back as I can remember) in the Cashion Fishing Rods ‘End of Year’ Team Tournament Bass Fishing Trail Qualifier #7 at Shearon Harris this past Saturday! 27 teams showed up on just a perfect day! The weather was beautiful! Air temps were about 68 in the am and around 84 in the afternoon. The wind was light and variable up to 15 mph at times. Water temps averaged 73 degrees. The most fish were caught shallow early on but once the sun popped out most were caught suspended in 20′ of water. Crankbaits, plastics, spinnerbaits, swimbaits, Rat-L Traps and Topwater took their toll on the rest of the fish.Scott Woodson & Austin Randall, both of Fuquay Varina brought in the heaviest bag of 5 bass I rememberseeing in our PBC events over the years, 34.10 lbs.! They took 1st Place, 1st Place Big Fish (7.21) & TWT for a grand total of $1,663.

Jaime Fajardo & Josh Hooks, Harris regulars, took 2nd Place & 2nd Place TWT with 5 bass weighing 24.25 lbs. Tony Woodard & Scott Smith had 2nd Place Big Fish at 5.51. Jaime Fajardo also won the Tow Boats US Member Award of $50. 54 bass were weighed in for a total of 165 pounds. This averaged a little over 3 lbs. a fish and most looked healthy. This was our last event at Harris for 2014, but we’ll be back in February 2015 to get back at those hawgs!
I want to thank all the anglers that participated and all our sponsors that support these trails. Our next tournament will be the Cashion Fishing Rods ‘End of Year’ Team Tournament Bass Fishing Trail Final Qualifier #8, Saturday, October 25th at Falls Lake out of Ledge Rock Wildlife Ramp.
