The RowdyTime Lures Ice Buster Open at Shearon Harris was a great success, for our 1st tournament of the  year, with 40 teams showing up in 28 degree morning temps and afternoon temps around 50. It was chilly!! The  winds were light for the most part and the water level was about a foot higher than normal.  Water temps  averaged 47 degrees and the water was a little dingy. Only 25 bass were weighed in, but quite a few more slot
fish were caught that couldn’t be weighed in. Not a bad day for this time of year. The lake water should start  warming up this week and next Saturday’s tournament at Harris should be a good one.

Max Newell and Tyler Faggart weighed in just 4 bass weighing 22.95 lbs to take 1st Place and 1st Place TWT  along with big bass of day (8.64) plus the RowdyTime Lures 1st Place Bonus Package for a total of $3,117!

2nd Place team was Jerry Marshburn and Chuck Byrd with 3 bass weighing 17.34 lbs. They also won 2nd  place
TWT and 2nd place Big Fish (8.31) to take home a total of $1,273. The team of Michael & Chris Hinson took 3rd
Place with 3 weighing 14.51 lbs for $560 in prize money!

Most bass were caught with crankbaits, jerkbaits, RatLTraps and WLS Shakey Heads. Quite a few over slot  bass weighing 5 to 8 pounds were caught which is a good sign that warm water is soon to come!!

I want to thank Raeford Faircloth and Joe Smith with RowdyTime Lures and all the anglers that participated.  Our next tournament will be the 2015 Piedmont Bass Classics $10,000 Spring Team Bass Trail Qualifier #1,
Saturday March 5th at Shearon Harris out of Cross Point Landing Wildlife Ramp. All the information on our  tournaments can be found at:
