Racine, WI (July 18, 2016): Minn Kota® changed fishing permanently with the introduction of the original GPS-based trolling system. Anywhere there is water, anglers can use i-Pilot® or i-Pilot® Link™ systems for easier boat control and positioning, so they can focus their attention on bait presentation and catching fish.

At this year’s ICAST, Minn Kota unveils innovative enhancements to i-Pilot and i-Pilot Link systems, including all-new remotes and the most accurate Spot-Lock ever, making them even more powerful and versatile.

 

i-Pilot System Features:

  • Remote: Larger LCD screen and more intuitive controls
  • Reinvented Spot-Lock: New hardware and software algorithms combine to create the most accurate electronic GPS anchor ever
  • Jog: Move your current Spot-Lock position 5 feet to the left or right, forward or backward, with the simple push of a button
  • Bluetooth® Wireless Communication
  • Phone App: Trolling motor controls and software updates (iOS and Android)

All new i-Pilot Link systems will include:

  • Remote: Compact design with larger full-color touchscreen LCD
  • Reinvented Spot-Lock: New hardware and software algorithms combine to create the most accurate GPS anchor ever
  • Jog: Move your current Spot-Lock postion 5 feet to the left or right, forward or backward, with the simple push of a button
  • Phone App: Trolling motor controls and software updates (iOS and Android)
  • Circle: Select a position, dial in an offset distance, and travel around your selected location in a circular direction at the speed of your choice
  • Virtual Remote: Control speed, steering, Spot-Lock and Advanced AutoPilot directly from your Humminbird® (Ethernet models)

The new i-Pilot Link remote includes:

  • Compact, soft-grip design that fits better in the user’s hand
  • Large, full-color, sunlight-viewable LCD screen
  • Dual Interface Control
  • Touchscreen user interface with intuitive, customizable menu
  • Full function keypad control
  • Integrated, rechargeable battery, with an anticipated battery charge of approximately one fishing day
  • Waterproof
  • The new i-Pilot remote includes:
  • Rugged, soft grip design
  • 33% larger, full sunlight-viewable LCD screen
  • New soft keys for easier and expanded menu navigation
  • Power supplied by 3 x AAA batteries, with an anticipated battery lifetime of approximately one fishing season
  • Waterproof

Bluetooth wireless communication between a remote and the trolling motor controller is at the heart of all i-Pilot and i-Pilot Link systems. New Bluetooth-enabled i-Pilot and
i-Pilot Link systems will extend Minn Kota trolling motor controls to a phone app, including:

  • Most-used motor controls
  • Steering
  • Prop on/off
  • Prop speed
  • High-speed bypass
  • Spot-Lock
  • AutoPilot
  • Compatible with Android and iOS devices
  • Software updates
  • Wireless product registration

New factory-installed i-Pilot systems will be available on new Minn Kota Ultrex, Ulterra, Terrova and PowerDrive bow-mount trolling motors, as well as Riptide Ulterra, Riptide Terrova and Riptide PowerDrive, for saltwater environments. Likewise, new i-Pilot Link systems will be available on UItrex, Ulterra and Terrova bow-mount trolling motors, as well as Riptide Ulterra and Riptide Terrova in a variety of shaft lengths and prop thrust levels. Products will be available in late fall, 2016.
