The Cashion Fishing Rods ‘End of Year’ Team Tournament Bass Fishing Trail Qualifier #4 at Kerr Lake had a good turnout with 32 boats, but the fish didn’t know a tournament was going on, so they just didn’t feel hungry at  all.  The weather for summer fishing was great. The winds were light in the am & 5 to 10 in the pm, the air
temps ranged from 74 to 89 and the water level was just about normal pool of 300. Surface water temps  averaged 85 warm degrees! Only one ‘veteran’ team found a pattern, the rest, not so good. The summertime  bite is not good at this time. Only 1 limit was weighed in!!

Bryan Welch & Mark Inman, veteran anglers at Kerr, got on a pattern that worked for them before during summer months and caught 5 weighing 13.37 lbs to take 1st Place, 1st Place Big Fish (3.49 lbs.) and 1st Place  TWT for a total of $1,964!

1st place team..Welch on left..Inman on right

2nd Place team was Vinston Nettles & Jimmie Spencer with 4 bass weighing 7.15 lbs. They also won 2nd  place  TWT to take home a total of $778. The 3rd Place Team of Dan Jenkins & Ken McMinn (subbing for Jason  Kopp) netted 3 bass weighing 6.46 lbs. and won a total of $444. 2nd Place Big Fish (4.78 lbs.) was caught by the team of Corey Linton & Marc Peck (3.28 lbs.) worth $192.

Only 35 bass were brought to the scales for a total of 77 pounds averaging 2.20 lbs. each. Most were caught on  Carolina Caraway Creek worm rigs, Texas rigs, drop shots, WLS Shake Heads and Bass Alarm jigs.
