New York Native Wins Bassmaster Toyota Tundra Sweepstakes

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — After entering the contest every day for 43 days, Glenn Van Iderstine of Elma, N.Y., finally won the grand prize in the Bassmaster Toyota Tundra Giveaway Sweepstakes.
“I have always followed Bassmaster.com and their contests,” Van Iderstine said. “I have entered probably all of the sweepstakes and this is the one that I won, which is nice.”
After the contest was closed, Van Iderstine thought it may have ended like others in the past, but felt different about this one.
“I don’t check my email everyday, but something told me I needed to check it,” he said. “I saw, ‘You’re a winner’ and thought it was a scam, but there were things on there that only Bassmaster would’ve known. I was really excited when I saw it. I couldn’t sleep that night.”
Soon, however, Van Iderstine was able to select and drive away with a crimson-colored 2017 Toyota Tacoma SR5.
“I love this truck,” he said. “It has navigation, Bluetooth and power-everything. I am in amazement that I had won it.”
He also won a trip for two to Ridgedale, Mo., to compete in the fifth annual Toyota Bonus Bucks Owners Tournament on Table Rock Lake, Oct. 22-23. His trip included a two-night stay, airfare, rental car, gift bag and $500 in spending money. The grand prize totals $37,000.
At the Toyota Bonus Bucks tournament, Van Iderstine met some of the Bassmaster Elite Series anglers, including Mike Iaconelli, and was treated to a bass fishing trip.
“Fishing is my passion,” he said.
