CASHION FISHING RODS SPRING TEAM TOURNAMENT BASS TRAIL CHAMPIONSHIP
Saturday Jun 10th, 2017 ~  ~ Falls Lake ~ ~ Ledge Rock Wildlife Ramp

[print_link]

Only 28 out of the 41 teams qualified to fish showed up to fish the Cashion Fishing Rods Spring Team Tournament Bass Trail Championship at Falls Lake making the attending teams chances a little better to win! The weather was
great with winds very light most of the day, the air temps ranged from 60 to 87 and the water level was about normal. Surface water temps averaged 85 degrees and the water was a little dingy on the I-85 end but clearer towards the dam.
The bite was not really that bad with the smaller fish being caught shallow near grass and the larger fish caught on the river channels in about 10′ of water.

The team of Jerry Marshburn & Kevin Woodall finally got the win they wanted and it come at the right time to stack up the money!! They weighed in 5 nice bass weighing a total of 24.10 lbs to take 1st Place, 1st Place Tournament
Within A Tournament (TWT), Big Fish Award (7.48 lbs.), thePointsChampionship and also 4 custom rods courtesy of Cashion Fishing Rods,  for a total of $4,590 in cash & prizes!!! A great win for these great tournament anglers!

The 2nd Place team of Paul Owens & Tyler Faggart caught 5 bass weighing 21.25 lbs. and took home $835 in winnings. The 3rd Place team of Jaime Fajardo & Josh Hooks brought to the scales 5 bass weighing 20.07 lbs. taking home $490
in winnings.

91 bass were brought to the scales for a total of 273 pounds averaging 3.00 lbs. each! All the fish looked healthy and strong as the post spawn feeding continues!! Spinnerbaits, topwater lures, jig & pigs, chatterbaits and small crankbaits
in the more shallow water worked well and as the sun rose the fish went deeper and large swim baits & worm rigs seemed to be the lures of choice.

I want to thank Cashion Fishing Rods and all the anglers that participated. Our next tournament will be the 2017 Piedmont Bass Classics $10,000 Spring Team Bass Trail Championship (for Qualified Teams Only!) Saturday June 17th at Kerr Lake out of Flemingtown Landing Wildlife Ramp. Spectators are welcome!!
