Tulsa, Okla. – Lowrance®, a world-leader in fishing electronics since 1957, mounted another commanding performance this weekend as Lowrance professional angler Wesley Strader won his first-ever Bassmaster Elite event, and the $100,000 prize. The tournament was held May 4-7 on Kentucky Lake in Paris, Tennessee.

A Spring City, Tennessee native, Strader’s winning four-day total was 80 pounds and 4 ounces. This impressive tally allowed him to slip past fellow Lowrance anglers Skeet Reese and Kelley Jaye, who took second and third place, respectively. In addition, Shaw Grigsby Jr. came in 11th, rounding out the list of Lowrance pros in the Top 12. Of the 108 competitors, 56 were finding fish with Lowrance HDS fishfinders – 52% of the field.

“I used my StructureScan® 3D side views to find drains and ditches that come out from the shoreline and key rocky areas that the shade spawn were primarily on. In this case, Lowrance lead, I followed and then we won!” said Strader.

“With the combination of sonar and mapping on my Lowrance HDS Carbon 16, I was able to see fish and locate key spots for catching my fish this week,” said Reese.

“The competitors at this level are all the best of the best,” said Leif Ottosson, CEO, Navico. “The fact that the top three anglers were all armed with Lowrance is a testament to the confidence these professionals have in our technology. We’d like to congratulate Wesley on his first Elite series win, and are excited to be an integral part in another exciting tournament.”
