Congratulations to Derek Johnson of Lumber City, Ga for bringing in the winning sack at Lake Oconee on June 2, 2018, for the AFT D72 tournament.  Derek caught his five best fish using jigs and shaky heads.  His total weight was 14.00 pounds, and Derek took home $801 for the first place finish.

Larry Cason of Newborn, Ga took the trophy for Big Bass and $245 for his lunker weighing 6.39 pounds. Larry said he caught lots of small fish, but the big one was landed while flipping docks with a worm.

With a tropical storm earlier in the week, the 49 anglers found the lake water temperature in the low 80’s. Pre-dawn rain brought hot and muggy temperatures and an afternoon thunderstorm.

Congratulations to the Top Ten:
1 – Derek Johnson – 14.00 pounds – $801
2 – James Golden – 13.85 pounds – $548
3 – Larry Cason – 13.64 pounds – $281
