Qualifier #1 of PBC Cashion Fishing Rods ‘End of Year’ Trail at Falls Lake started off with the most beautiful morning you could ask for! Hardly no wind and am temps at around 68. Air temps rose to about 88 at the 2pm weighin and the winds were still light. Water temps averaged about 86 degrees. The bite was pretty light today but the some teams managed to bring in a couple of hands full of 4 to 7 pounders! The Summer/Fall bite is always unpredictable!
The team of Angela Harrison & husband Matt won 1st Place weighing in 5 bass at 23.53 lbs. for a total of $860 in winnings.
Bryce McClenney & William Howard came in 2nd place with 5 fish weighing 21.06 lbs. & also won 1st Place Big Fish (7.74 lbs.) to pocket a total of $916. 3rd place team, Jerry Marshburn & Tim Parker won $350 with 5 weighin 17.83 lbs. and also won the TWT for a grand total of $1,015! The 2nd Place Big Fish weighed 7.72 lbs. and was caught by the 4th Place Team of Jay Fogleman & Robert Perkins and they also won the 2nd Place TWT to bring their winnings to a total of $729!! The money really got spread around today!!
91 fish were weighed in for a total of 245 pounds for an average of 2.69 lbs. each. Most of the larger fish were caught on Texas rigs, Carolina rigs, Jig combos and Crankbaits in 2-12‘ of water off main point dropoffs, grass flats and creek channels.
