We got lucky today with the weather forecast, it didn’t rain a bit after 5am!! Qualifier #3 of the PBC Cashion Fishing Rods ‘End of Year’ Trail at Falls Lake began with hardly no wind and am temps at around 86 and stayed that way for the day.Water temps averaged about 85 degrees and the water level was about a foot above normal. The bite was pretty light today but about a third of the 36 teams managed to bring in some decent bags! For the most part the bite was hard to find!
The team of David Hall & Kevin Farley won 1st Place weighing in 5 bass at 22.47 lbs. and also won the 1st Place TWT for a total of $1,680 in winnings. Hall on left, Farley on right.
Todd Massey, fishing without his regular partner Brandon Gray, came in 2nd
place with 5 fish weighing 20.94 lbs. & also won 2nd Place TWT to pocket a total of $847. Lee Williams, fishing without his regular partner Scott Smith, took 3rd Place and won $432 with 5 weighing 18.67 lbs.. The 8th Place Team
of Jerry Marshburn & Tim Parker and the 7th Place Team of Johnny Wilder & Mike Harris tied for the Big Fish Honors with each team catching an 6.75 lb. bass! Each team won $360 for that!!The money really got spread around today!!
Only 74 fish were weighed in for a total of 229 pounds for an average of 3.10 lbs. each. Most of the fish were caught on Texas rigs, Carolina rigs, Jig combos and Crankbaits in 2-12‘ of water off main point dropoffs, grass flats and creek channels.
