Gary Rogers Claims Victory on Lake Norman
[print_link] Garry Rogers of Statesville, NC is one step closer to the American Fishing Tour National Championship with a first-place win on Lake Norman this past weekend. Rogers bested the field by weighing in five-bass, which weighed 11.35 pounds, worth $432.00. Second place went to Lance Eckford of Troutman, NC with five-bass weighing in at 8.93 pounds. Third place went to Sam Gladden of Icard, NC with five-bass weighing 8.68 pounds. At launch time the temperatures were in the lower 70’s with partly cloudy skies and light variable winds. The day’s conditions continued with partly cloudy skies, light winds, and temperatures topping out in the low 90’s. Water temperatures were in the mid to upper 80’s. Top three Anglers: Big bass honors went to Rodney Cromer of Pomaria, SC who caught a 3.21 pound largemouth, that was worth $75.00. The next tournament in division 14 is scheduled for Nov 10th on High Rock Lake out of Southmont Access off of NC Hwy 8. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. The American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points.
