ATHENS, Ala. – Dillon Falardeau of Hixson, Tennessee, won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series East Tennessee event held on Lake Chickamauga on 2/16/19. Running out of the Dayton Boat Dock access area in Dayton, TN, Falardeau weighed in a five bass limit totaling 23.83-pounds. His limit was anchored by a bass weighing 7.11-pounds which was the biggest bass weighed in by a boater. For the win and big bass Falardeau took home $2100.00.
“The lake was very pressured. I picked up a spinning outfit rigged with light line and a very small swimbait and never put it down,” said Falardeau.
In second for the boaters, Brian Wilson of Calhoun, Georgia, weighed in a five bass limit weighing 20.65-pounds. His limit was anchored by a bass weighing 5.13-pounds.
“I was fishing shallow today. My fish was caught on a Chatterbait, a rattletrap, and a jerkbait,” said Wilson.
Taking third for the boaters, Joseph Tallent of Knoxville, Tennessee, weighed in a five bass limit weighing 18.91-pounds.
“I caught all of my keepers today on a rattletrap fishing shallow,” said Tallent.
In fourth place for the boaters, Nathan Hill of Rockwood, Tennessee, weighed in five bass for 13.96-pounds. Rounding out the top 5 Anthony Rodefe of Knoxville, Tennessee, weighed in five bass for 13.40-pounds.
In the Co-angler Division Chris Seese of Ten Mile, Tennessee weighed in three bass weighing 11.56 pounds. He took home $950.00 for the win.
“I caught my fish using a spinning outfit, 8lb line and a very small swimbait,” said Seese.
Taking second for the co-anglers, John Wilkerson of Nashville, Tennessee, weighed in three bass weighing 10.78 pounds.
“I caught around seven bass today. All of my fish were caught using a shad colored rattletrap and a red squarebill crankbait,” said Wilkerson.
Taking third for the co-anglers, Eric Morehead of Chatsworth, Georgia, weighed in two bass weighing 10.55-pounds. Morehead also collected big bass honors for weighing in the biggest bass caught by a co-angler. His bass weighed in at 7.52-pounds.
“I caught the big bass on a Berkley War Pig and my other bass came on a squarebill crankbait,” said Morehead.
In fourth for the co-anglers David Perron of Dayton, Tennessee, weighed in three bass weighing 10.19-pounds. Rounding out the top five, Roy Yother of Red Bank, Tennessee weighed in two bass weighing 7.88-pounds.
Slated for May 11th the next event for the East Tennessee Division will be held on Lake Cherokee launching from the Hamblen County Dock.
