Tulsa, Okla. – Lowrance®, a world-leader in fishing electronics since 1957, was well represented last week on the national fishing tours with Lowrance anglers winning tournaments on the Major League Fishing (MFL), Bassmaster, Fishing Worldwide (FLW) and National Walleye Tour (NWT) circuits.
Lowrance Pro Dean Rojas won the MLF Bass Pro Tour Stage Five event on Smith Lake in Cullman, Alabama; Brandon Cobb won the Bassmaster Elite Bassfest on Lake Fork in Emory, Texas; John Cox won the FLW Tour event at Lake Chickamauga near Dayton, Tennessee and Zachary Axtman won the NWT event in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
At the MLF’s Bass Pro Tour event, Rojas finished with a six-pound lead over his closest competition with a total of 47-pounds to earn the champion’s trophy and the $100,000 first-place check. Lowrance anglers have won four of the MLF Bass Pro Tour events this season with Jordan Lee winning Stage One in Kissimmee, Florida, Edwin Evers taking the top spot at the Stage Two event in Conroe, Texas and Jacob Powroznik winning the Stage Three event in Raleigh, North Carolina. There were four Lowrance Pros in the Top 10 and HDS LIVE was used on 22 of the 40 boats in the knockout round.
Cobb finished with a total weight of 114 pounds at Bassfest to notch his second victory of the season. In addition to the trophy and an automatic berth in the 2020 Bassmaster Classic, Cobb netted the biggest bass of the tournament (11-pounds, 1-ounce), which won him a new Toyota Tundra. Lowrance had five boats competing on Championship Monday.
Cox won the FLW Tour event with an impressive 83-pounds, 9-ounces. In addition to the $100,000 prize, Cox also claimed enough points to take the lead in the Angler of the Year standing, with only one event left in the regular season. Lowrance HDS LIVE displays were used by eight of the Top 10 anglers.
Axtman landed a total of ten walleye during the two-day NWT event, all before lunchtime. He racked up 27-pounds, 4-ounces to secure the victory and a brand-new Ranger 620FS.
“What an incredible showing by Lowrance Pros this past weekend across the country,” said Leif Ottosson, CEO, Navico Group. “We are so proud to be able to support anglers at all levels from coast to coast. We would like to extend our congratulations to the victors and all of our Lowrance Pro team.”
