PBC ACADEMY SPORTS & OUTDOORS SPRING TEAM BASS TRAIL CHAMPIONSHIP

Saturday June 15th, 2019 ~  ~ Jordan Lake ~ ~ Farrington Point Wildlife Ramp

What a great day to have a fishing tournament!! 52 degrees in the am and about 84 in the pm with no rain, winds 0 to 10 and water temps around 78!!! Ya can’t get any better than that!! 62 teams, that qualified, fished the PBC Academy Sports & Outdoors $10K Spring Team Bass Trail Championship at Jordan. The lake level was about 2 foot above normal and the bass fishing was on fire!!! After the weighin the polygraph was given, and everyone was treated to ‘Decky’s Famous BBQ Sandwiches’ & drinks compliments of Triangle Trolling Motor’s owner Mark Nelson!! Then over $7,000 in door prizes, compliments of our great sponsors, were given away by drawing!!!!!

First time PBC Championship winners, veterans Mike Dinterman & Vernon Fleming, figured out the pattern and caught 5 huge bass weighing a total of 32.26 lbs. (heaviest bag of the year so far), which included a 8.39 pounder, to take 1st Place &

1st Place TWT and 2nd place big fish for a total of  $11,772 in prize money along with 2 beautiful 1st Place plaques!
Dinterman (L)..Fleming (R)

The 2nd Place team of Dennis Reedy & Scott Smith caught 5 bass weighing 29.39 lbs. and also took 2nd Place TWT to take home $1,790!! The 3rd Place Team of Jaime Fajardo & Josh Hooks weighed a 5 fish total of 26.79 lbs. to
give them $645 in winnings plus they won the Trail Points Championship to addan additional $1,000 in winnings and 2 beautiful plaques!!! 1st Place Big Fish (8.87 lbs.) was won by the team of Johnny Wilder & Mike Harris for $868 in cash!! Mike was absent today so Johnny took all the accolades! Johnny also caught the heaviest bass of the Spring March 16th at Falls Lake…10.69 lbs.!

224 bass were brought to the scales! These bass caught today were in the best shape, well fed and the strongest fish I
remember weighing in before. The Jordan fishery is in great shape at this time. Most of the fish were caught on
worms rigs and crankbaits today. The winners did tell me that they did their best casting around structure in 9′ of
water using Texas Worm Rigs with 10″ black worms.

I want to thank Academy Sports & Outdoors along with all our other sponsors and all the anglers that participated.
Our next tournament will be the Cashion Fishing Rods ‘End of Year’ Team Tournament Bass Fishing Trail Qualifier
#1, Saturday July 13th at Falls Lake out of Ledge Rock Wildlife Ramp.
