ATHENS, Ala. –The team of Joshua Birdsong of Gallatin, TN and Corey Huff of Bethpage, TN won the Bass Pro Shops 150 series team event held on Old Hickory on 6/29/19. The team sacked up a five bass limit weighing 14.93 pounds. Their limit was anchored by a bass weighing 4.76 pounds.  For the win, Birdsong and Huff took home a fully rigged Tracker Pro Team 175 XTE Tournament edition boat with a 75 HP Mercury 4 stroke motor valued at $21,000.00

“We fished between Flippers and Blue Grass fishing shallow docks with a jig. We lost a four pounder and a three pounder in four casts but it didn’t hurt us too bad. It was a hot one today. I figured that it was going to take more to win this event, but we had just enough to win. This is the first boat that I have ever won! It feels great.”  Birdsong said.

In second place the team of Lance Oligschlaeger of Gallatin, TN and Josh Womack of Gallatin, TN weighed in a five bass limit weighing 14.84 pounds. Their limit was anchored by a bass weighing 5.08 pounds which was the biggest bass weighed in.

“We always work well together as a team. We caught a few early on a spinnerbait and then went out deep cranking and a Texas rig. It’s tough when you lose by .09 of a pound. I’m looking forward to the championship.” Oligschlaeger said.

Taking third the team of Mickey Beck of Lebanon, TN and John “Mike” Williams of Murfreesboro, TN weighed in a five bass limit weighing 13.80 pounds.

“We caught our fish today on jigs, crankbaits and swim-jigs. We caught lots of fish but just couldn’t get that big bite today.” said Williams.

In fourth place the team of Anthony Guffie of Lafayette, TN and Andrew Harvey of Westmoreland, TN weighed in five bass for 13.74 pounds. Rounding out the top five the team of Joshua Jenkins of Bethpage, TN and Tyler Patton of Gallatin, TN weighed in five bass for 13.69 pounds.

In total this tournament paid back 100% of the entries and big bass bringing the total payback at $28,140.00.
