Lowrance Professional Angler Scott Canterbury Wins Bassmaster Elite Angler of the Year Competition

Lowrance Anglers Have Dominated All Three Major Tournaments This Year
Tulsa, Okla. – Lowrance®, a world-leader in fishing electronics since 1957, announced today Lowrance Professional Angler Scott Canterbury won the Bassmaster Elite Angler of the Year Points Competition. Following on wins from David Dudley who won the Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) Tour Angler of the Year and Edwin Evers, who won the Major League Fishing (MLF) Bass Pro Tour Points Championship, Canterbury’s win gives Lowrance a trifecta of winners in all three major national bass events. In all three tournaments, the majority of anglers chose Lowrance HDS fishfinder/chartplotters. The Bassmaster Elite Angler of the Year Championship was held on Lake St. Clair in Detroit, Michigan, September 29 – October 1, 2019.

With five bass that weighed 19-pounds, 12-ounces during Tuesday’s final round, Canterbury pushed his three-day total to 59-4 and finished in 14th place for the week at the Championship. He finished at the top of the season points standings with 848 points, earning one of the most coveted titles in professional fishing and the $100,000 check that goes with it.

“I depend on my Lowrance equipment more than ever,” said Canterbury. “It’s a trust issue, that when I see fish on my screen I have the confidence they are there, and when they are not on the screen I’m not wasting my time fishing non-productive water.”

“We are very happy to support so many successful professional anglers in tournaments across the country,” said Knut Frostad, CEO, Navico Group. “Time and again, the majority of anglers competing in these tournaments trust Lowrance to get them to the podium and we wish all of them the best of luck in next year’s season.”
