Winners: Chad Green (right) and Johnny Martin won the Alzheimer’s Benefit Fishing Tournament Saturday sponsored by the Smith Mountain Lake Bassmasters. The team caught a five fish limit weighing a whopping 19.50 lbs. to take first place. The team also had the big fish of the day weighing 5.85 lbs. Pictured is Harold Black who is helping Green hold up his haul. Martin had to leave the tourney early after suffering a kidney stone attack. “He was really struggling,” Green said. “The good Lord really blessed us.” The team earned $1150 for first place and $350 for big fish. A portion of the proceeds will go Roanoke Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
