David Lowery of Milledgeville, GA., takes the win on Lake Oconee for the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour D72 tournament held on February 8, 2020 sponsored by Bass Pro Shops.
David caught a five fish limit weighing 14.92 pounds to take home $709.00 cash and the first place trophy.
His favorite bait is a K & A jig with a Big Bite Baits Kamikaze Craw trailer.
Chad Stahl won the trophy for Big Bass with a nice 6.14 pounder that he caught on a jig.
He won the optional big bass pot of $320.00 for this one largemouth!
Chad also brought a five fish limit to the scale totaling 14.46 pounds to take the second place trophy and second place cash of $444.00.
There were 32 anglers to participate in this tournament, and all fish caught were released alive. The water was very muddy from several days of heavy rain, but luckily the rain held off during most of the tournament.

A very big “Thank You” goes out to Assistant Director Danny Taylor for helping with the tournament. His help in the morning with boat checks and in the afternoon with weighing fish keeps the tournament running smoothly.
Director Benny Howell gave draw prizes for the anglers present at the conclusion of the awards. A $50.00 Sugar Creek Marina gift card was won by Les Charles.
The winners of two $50.00 bills were Bradley Gardner and Randy Jackson.
The next tournament for D72 will be February 29, 2020 on Lake Sinclair going out of Dennis Station.

These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional Angler of the Year (AOY) title.
The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers (ABA) Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour (BPSFT) Angler of The Year (AOY) Final Round at the BPSFT National Championship.
In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, BPSFT National Championship tournament.
The Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler.
All anglers fish for both money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the U.S. are invited to the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour (BPSFT) National Championship.
