David Sasser Takes the Wins ABA on the Tar/Pamlico River

June 13, 2020, 9 anglers launched from Tranters Creek Ramp on the Tar River out of Washington, NC.  Six anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed David Sasser from Sneads Ferry, NC took the victory with 12.64 lbs.  For the win David took home $313 in prize money.  David said he went down to the Pamilico around Chocowinity Bay and fished a combination of lures to include Sinkos and frogs to catch his fish.  Congratulations David!

Second amongst the competitors was Danny Flynn from Bethel, NC with 5 fish that locked in the scales at 9.80 lbs.  For his efforts he took home $128 in prize money.  Danny said he caught his fish down river on frogs.

Third place went to Mike Colbert from Newport, NC.  Mike had a 5 fish limit that weighed 9.53 lbs.  Mike only went a couple miles from the ramp and also caught his fish on frogs.

The Biggest Bass of the tournament was also caught by David Sasser.  His fish locked in the scales at 4.62 lbs earning him the big bass pot.

The next tournament in the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour, NC Central, Division 17 will take place on Saturday, 27 June, 2020 launching from Water Street Ramp in Plymouth, NC on the Roanoke River.

The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers (ABA) Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour (BPSFT) Angler of The Year (AOY) Final Round at the BPSFT National Championship.
