Z-Man Hires Industry Veteran To Marketing/Media Relations Role

Date:

This past week, Z-Man announced the appointment of Cory Schmidt as the company’s new Marketing/Media Relations Manager. Schmidt, a fishing industry veteran of over 30-years, will take charge of all Z-Man communications and will serve as the manufacturer’s primary media contact. By all accounts, this is a role that Schmidt should have no problem fulfilling.

Cory Schmidt began his career in the outdoor retail sector, while also contributing to several fishing publications, such as In-Fishermen. Ironically, he would later go on to serve as field editor of the same publication for more than 20-years. Schmidt also has credits in Bassmaster, North American Fisherman, and Field & Stream.

“I’ve always believed that when you surround yourself with good people, good things happen,” said Daniel Nussbaum, Z-Man President. “Cory is a smart, solid guy who fits right in with the Z-Man culture. He just ‘gets it’ when it comes to the fishing industry and the benefits of Z-Man’s products, namely our ElaZtech soft baits.”

Schmidt himself seems quite eager to step into his new role with Z-Man, a company with which he has worked closely on past projects. “My friend and colleague Ned Kehde introduced me to the Z-Man folks and their baits a number of years ago,” recalled Schmidt. “Right away, I liked Z-Man’s people and its culture. They were doing things differently, approaching the lure business with a refreshing perspective. Of course, the baits caught fish.”

From the casual observer’s perspective, this appointment seems to make sense for Z-Man. The company already has quite a social media following, which continues to grow with each passing year. To say the least, one can only expect this trend to continue moving forward.
