Lower Roanoke river
Striped Bass update:
What a weather pattern we’ve all been in 80 one day and 40’s the next. The warmer temps have definitely pushed more fish up the river than years past. The bite is still strong on the lower half and in the sound. Still plenty more schools to come before the spawn. I’m looking for March to be one of the best bite months of the season. We are still averaging daily catches 30 plus on a day trip. Having to do a lot of vertical jigging since the water flow has been slower than normal. Been catching most of the fish in the river on a Zman streak Z with a 1/2 oz. head. I prefer fishing shallow out in the open water when winds will allow by casting bigger swimbaits over shallow stumps. The fish are bigger on average with the occasional 30 in. fish being landed. Hope everyone enjoys the water this month, if your looking a fun trip give me a call 252-799-9536
