We had our 5th and Final Qualifier last Saturday at Falls Lake. Good Lord Blessed us with good weather this go around and we definitely appreciated it. We had several things happening Saturday. We had our usual tournaments but we also had regular season
Points Championships playing out rite in front of us.We had 70 teams come out and try to get the win. Seemed as if the old lake fished tough for most but as usual somebody’s going to figure them out. At the end of the day it was the not surprisingly Team of Scottie Morris and Dan Glosson that topped the field. They had a 5 fish limit weighing 26.64 pounds. That earned them a total of $2200.00 with the TWT. Them boys are strong anywhere they go but you put them on Falls Lake and watch out! Great job guys! They were followed by the team on Brandon Gray and Dannon Garber. They brought in a 5 fish limit weighing 23.73 pounds. That earned them $1105.00 with the TWT. Just a little FYI they wasn’t done collecting after that. We will get to that in a few minutes. Good job guys! BIG fish for the tournament was won by what I call the ( last minute boys!) If you see this team show up anytime early to register please call me so we can write it down.
The team of Daniel Jenkins and Logan Thornton won Big Fish with a fish weighing 7.69 pounds. That earned them $690.00. and that won them Big Fish of the year which they got plaques for. Good job guys!
Now let’s go to the Caswell Glass Heritage Trail side of things. We had 5 teams come out for their last chance of the year to take home a win in this division. At the end of the day it was the team of Brandon Gray and Dannon Garber who took home the WIN. Remember I told you they wasn’t done collecting! There bag for 23.73 pounds earned them two Favorite Fishing rods, two $50.00 Tarheel Flooring gift cards to Bass Pro Shops and the last 2 plaques of the year. All that on top of what they won for finishing 2nd in the 5 Alive tournament. Thats a strong day rite there and we’ll deserved. They were followed by the team of Ross Oliver and Ethan Larabee with a bag weighing 9.30 pounds. That earned them two $25.00 Bobcats Bait and Tackle Gift Cards . Good job guys!
Oh yeah I almost forgot. We had 2 Points Championships happening also.
It had come down to the last Qualifier to determine who the 2022 – 5 Alive Team Trail Points Champions would be. There was about 8 teams that still had a chance to get it done. This was the best one we have had yet as far as it being a nail biter. At the end of the day it was determined by 1 point. Yes I said 1 point!
Let me introduce to yall the 2022 – 5 Alive Team Trail Points Champions. The team of Mr. Tony Fox And Mr. Patrick Wooten. This teamed was solid all year and finished in the money 4 out of the 5 Qualifiers. Against this caliber of fishermen that is very strong! They well deserved this and we’re proud to have them represent our Trail. Let’s talk about what that earned them. They got a check for $1200.00, plaques, Points Champions coats, free entry fee’s to all of the 2023 Qualifiers and the # 1 blast off position in all of the 2023 Qualifiers. That’s close to $2000.00 worth of prizes and money. Remember guys it pays to fish them all! Let’s not forget about who they beat by 1 point to win the Championship. The 2nd place team was the team of Corey Herndon and Zach Elliott. They had a heck of a year and they can hold their heads up high. Great job guys and we’re glad to have yall fishing with us!
