The 2025 Big Bass Tour event on Smith Mountain Lake kicked off with a 7.88-pound weigh-in by long-time participant Robin Lefler. But the day would not end there with newmerouse 7 lb bass being weighed in throughout the day, & the final house it took a 5.24 or better to cash a check. The lake is fishing well for some of the anglers & tough for a whole lot. I spoke to a few today that caught them on a mix of baits & tactics, but more were looking for bedding fish moving towards the banks. Tomorrow is another day & another chance to catch the winning bass.
