We had the Inaugural Southern Door Solutions Big-5- Spring Championship 2 weeks ago. YEP!!! I know I’m late posting. SORRY!
I want to start off by saying THANK YOU to Mr. Philip Wilkins the owner of Southern Door Solutions for coming on board with us this year and sponsoring the event.
We had 47 teams out of the 105 teams qualified for the event show up to fish. The wind was brutal and evidently all the big fish went on a diet for this tournament for the majority of the teams. Lol!
When it was over there was a team that showed all the rest of us how it was supposed to be done.
The Father-Son team of Jeff Wolfe and Zack Wolfe came in and dropped the hammer on the scales and blew it out of the water. They had a 5-fish limit weighing 23.15 pounds. That Won
them the Guaranteed $3000.00 to win the tournament plus both of the TWT’S as well totaling
$4150.00
for the day. That was an impressive bag for that day for sure. BIG CONGRATULATIONS to those two on a excellent day of fishing. Well deserved!
They were followed by the team of Collins & Gwaltney who had a 5 fish limit weighing 19.06 pounds. Which by the way was a very impressive bag for that day for sure. That earned them a total of $1750.00 for the day.
GREAT JOB as well guys!
Big fish was won by the 3rd place finishing team in the tournament- Scearce & Slade. They had a great day as well. They had a 6.72 pound fish that won Big Fish for the tournament that anchored a 5 fish limit weighing 18.91 pounds.They carried home a total of $1520.00 for the day.
Aslo if you finished in the top 5 you automatically are qualified to fish in the 2 day Guaranteed $7000.00 Championship.
If a team had already qualified for that then we moved it to the next team on the list that had not.
