MIAMI (February 12, 2026) – Lowrance®, a world-leader in fishing electronics, has been awarded a 2026 Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show Innovation Award in the consumer electronics category for its ActiveTarget 2 XL live sonar system.

“We are thrilled that ActiveTarget 2 XL has been selected for an NMMA Innovation Award, highlighting it’s superior functionality and Lowrance’s commitment to advancing fishing technology,” said Yasser Nafei, President of Electronic Solutions for Navico Group. “With the sharpest and most comprehensive live sonar available, anglers gain broader underwater visibility, intuitive control, and – by pairing two systems – the ability to unlock the industry’s first 360-degree Live Scout view. We are very proud to receive this recognition.”

Building on the award-winning ActiveTarget 2 platform, the new XL transducer sets a new standard for live sonar performance. With ultra-clear resolution and a sweeping 180-degree field of vision – spanning Forward, Down, and Scout modes from a single transducer – ActiveTarget 2 XL ensures no fish or bait goes unseen. The full-screen display captures every detail, from the moment the lure drops to the strike itself, offering anglers unparalleled situational awareness and precision.

Switching views is now easier than ever. The redesigned XL transducer allows anglers to instantly toggle between Forward XL and Down XL views directly from the display, no manual adjustments required. The new bracket, compatible with both shaft and motor mounts*, enables seamless transitions into Scout Mode. Once activated, built-in reference markers guide anglers to the optimal angle for both deep and shallow water, ensuring pinpoint accuracy with every cast.

ActiveTarget 2 XL is a one-time upgrade that unlocks all sonar views from a single transducer, no additional gear needed. Anglers can simply mount the XL transducer and start fishing, using their existing ActiveTarget 2 sonar module to minimize setup and maximize time on the water.

For those seeking total situational awareness, combining two XL systems** introduces an industry-first: 360-degree Scout XL live view around the entire boat. This revolutionary capability allows anglers to identify the perfect casting spot without repositioning. Running multiple transducers also enables simultaneous viewing of Forward XL/Down XL and Scout XL views, eliminating the need to lift the trolling motor at all.

“The versatility of the transducer system on the Lowrance Active Target 2XL makes 360-degree live sonar a reality on small boats and opens a very wide door to help anglers find more fish,” said judge Charlie Levine.

The Innovation Awards program, organized by NMMA and judged by Boating Writers International (BWI), honors manufacturers and suppliers who bring new, innovative products for the boating industry to market. The award acknowledges products that best meet criteria including innovative distinction from other products currently being manufactured, benefit to the marine industry and/or consumer, practicality, and cost-effectiveness. The judging committee is comprised of BWI members who perform product testing throughout the year and have expertise in marine products.
