We started off the 2026 NO FFS Trail on March 28th with a BANG!
We had 76 boats show up for Qualifier #1. As always when I have a tournament there was a COLD FRONT that came storming in. 🙄
I really thought that the front would shut down the bite but it didn’t seem to have much effect on the bite.
Without the use of Forward Facing Sonar and 360 everyone went to their roots of fishing and caught em tho old fashion way.
When the scales closed it was the team of Doug Johnson and Rob Payne that took home the 🏆in the Inaugural NO FFS Tournament. They came to the scales with a 5 fish limit weighing 20.58 pounds that earned them a total of 💰 $3300.00💰
Johnson & Payne are veterans at Hyco Lake and their knowledge of the lake helped them get the job done. BIG CONGRATULATIONS to them on their Victory.
They were followed by the team of Lloyd & Worley.
They had a 5 fish limit weighing 19.58 pounds that earned them a total of 💵$1120.00💵
Big Fish was won by the team of Ferrell & Ellis with a 7.05 pound fish that earned them an extra $750.00 for the day.
BIG CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who placed in the money.
After the tournament we had our normal drawings for the fisherman and we gave away four $25.00 Gift cards. This year we have DNZ Products ( Game Reaper Baits) that has come on board for 2026 and we gave away two $50.00 Gift Certificates to DNZ Products. We will be doing this at each tournament in the NO FFS Trail.
I think all in all the tournament went well. Everyone was patient and worked together to make the process of locking and unlocking the transducers go smoothly. All 76 boats was in the water on time for blast off.
I want to Thank everyone for working with us on this trail. I think things will get a little smoother the more we do them.
Me and my wife also want to Thank each and everyone of yall for the kind words and prayers during these times as her father ( my father inlaw) passed away at midnight the morning of the tournament.
I also want to Thank my staff for doing such a great job!
