One of the tournament’s defining moments came on Championship Sunday when Johnston hooked a massive 7-pound, 7-ounce largemouth around dock pilings, a fish that ultimately helped seal the victory.
“I set the hook and it didn’t move,” Johnston explained. “It started going sideways and it must have gone around four different poles. Somehow, it swam back through all the poles and to the boat.”
