OVERVIEW: Most species of fish will begin to feed aggressively after they spawn. Later in June they will move into their summer patterns. Night fishing will be the best time to try your luck. Water temperature will be in the 70’s.

Largemouth Bass-Fishing will be good. Best lures will be large plastic worms, jig & pig, Thunder sticks, top water lures and drop shots. Most largemouth bass will be found around deep docks, humps, main channel points and rocky shorelines. Some largemouth bass will start to chase schools of bait early and late in the day.. Largemouth bass will start to move to their summer structures. Night fishing will be good.

Smallmouth Bass– Fishing should be fair. Best areas will be near humps, rocky areas and main points. Best lures will be jig & pig, drop shots, small crankbaits, top water lures and hair jigs. Best areas will be in the mid to the lower sections of the lake. Smallmouth bass will begin to surface feed this month.

Striped Bass– Fishing will be good. Stripers will be caught in various areas of the lake.
The best areas will be in the lower and mid sections of both rivers and the areas around the dam. Best lures will be top water lures, Red Fins, swimbaits, bucktails and Zoom flukes fished on 3/8 to 1/2 oz. lead heads. Live bait and trolling will also be productive. The best depths will be from the surface to 35 feet deep. Night fishing will be good. Some schools of stripers will surface this month.

Crappie-Fishing for crappie will be fair. They will be found 5 to 15 feet deep this month. Best areas will be in the main creeks around docks, fallen trees, and brush piles in the mid to upper parts of the lake. Small live minnows and 1 ½ inch tubes fished on 1/16 oz. lead heads will work best to catch crappie this month.

TIP OF THE MONTH: The best time to fish will be early morning, later afternoon, cloudy days and night time. Try to avoid fishing days when there is bright sunshine and heavy boat traffic.
