MINNEAPOLIS (March 11, 2015) – FLW, the world’s largest tournament-fishing organization, and Gene Larew Lures, a Tulsa, Oklahoma-based manufacturer of a full line of soft plastics, has signed on as a FLW sponsor for 2015. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“We are pleased that Gene Larew is working with FLW,” said Patterson Leeth, Vice President of Marketing at FLW. “Their soft plastics are known for their consistency and high quality and their affiliation will benefit our anglers, members and fans.”
This merger brings together one of the oldest names in soft-plastic lures with the world’s largest bass-fishing tournament organizations.
The Salt Craw was the bait that made Gene Larew Lures famous, but the company has continued to raise soft plastic lure standards for more than three decades. Gene Larew’s premier injection molding equipment produces consistent shape and color patterns, a rare but crucial feature in the soft plastic market. Baits such as the Biffle Bug, TattleTail Worm, Rattlin’ CRAWler and Rally Grub are among the company’s more recent introductions and showcase the brand’s focus on innovative products.
The company will receive exposure across multiple FLW’s platforms, including its tournaments and Expos, websites, social media outlets and FLW Bass Fishing magazine.
“FLW anglers are great students of the sport and we’re proud that many of them know as much about our products and colors as we do,” said Larew President Chris Lindenberg. “Our number one objective is to help people catch fish, so our approach to manufacturing is to introduce new designs with inherent advantages, versus copying something that’s already out there. The Biffle Bug and Hardhead are perfect examples – giving anglers new tools for a simple cast and reel technique that anybody can do. We’re pleased to team with FLW in 2015.”
