The weather cooperated and the bass did their part as 108 teams gathered at the Nutbush Park Ramp on Kerr Lake this past weekend for the 2015 CATT NC/VA CATT Championship. Many of the teams reported good fishing during practiced and it showed the 1st day. 103 of the 108 teams weighed in on Saturday with Mark Inman & Brian Welch leading the way with 20.85 lbs. Several teams were in the 15 lb range and a few bass over 5 pounds were brought to the scales.

The 2nd day the fishing was a tad bit tougher but Scott Hamrick and Roger Hoover who weighed in a 19 lb bag Saturday added 16.21 lbs Sunday pushing their 2-day total to 35.43 lbs. That was good enough for the win and $6,000.00 plus another $1,800.00 BONUS $. Add in the Triton Gold $ and they took home $14,800.00!
2nd went to Steve Roberts and Mark Cooper with 10 bass weighing 34.63 lbs. They collected $3,000.00 plus $900.00 BONUS $ for a total of $3,900.00!
Dale Surrett & Brian Morgan finished 3rd with 10 bass weighing 34.41 lbs. They claimed the 1st SKEETER BONUS $ adding another $1,500.00 to their $2,000.00 3rd place check. Their cash reward was $3,500.00!
Brian Welch & Mark Inman took 4th with 10 bass weighing 33.42 lbs. Add in $540.00 BONUS $ and they took home a total of $2,040.00!
Jerry & Robert Dean claimed 5th with 10 bass weighing 32.89 and received $1,000.00.
Kyle Whisnant & Craig Chambers earned 6th with 10 bass weighing 31.17 lbs. Add in the BONSU $ for a total of $1,160.00.
Steve Singleton & Dave Farrington weighed in 30.20 lbs with 10 bass and took 7th. They also earned 2nd SKEETER BONUS $ at $750.00. To top it off they weighed the LEWS BF of the Championship and took home another $1,080.00 plus a LEWS Baitcast Reel, Lews Speed Stick Rod, Lews Flouro Line & Lews Cap. All total they took home $2,530.00 in cash and Lews prizes valued at $400.00!
Ronnie Smith & Randy Weddinton were the 8th Place team with 10 bass weighing 30.12 lbs. They added another $250 in SKEETER BONUS $ for a total of $900.00.
We paid back 17 spots so check out the rest of the results….CATT features the best payback in Carolina bass fishing. We more than likely will go back to Kerr next year but keep checking!
