Morristown Marine Team Trail Invitational traveled to Rockwood, TN on Saturday April 29th at Watts Bar Lake. We had an awesome turnout of 235 boats.
Brant Grimm (Church Hill, TN) and Bobby Drinnon (Rogersville, TN) held the lead with 24.43 lbs. to take home the $10,000.00 1st place check. They also had Highest Finishing Lowrance for an additional $500.00 for a total of $10,500.00.
2nd Place went to Kevin Keith (Cohutta GA) and Joe Wilson (Dayton, TN) with 22.33 and a check or $3500.00
3rd place went to Dale Pelfrey (Rockwood, TN) and Jonathan Bowling (Harriman, TN) with 20.13 lbs, and a check for $2500.00.
4th place was Jamie Lawson (Oakdale, TN) and Michael Fickey (Harriman, TN) with 20.00 lbs and a check for $1500.00. They also had Highest Finishing Skeeter/Yamaha for an additional $3500.00 for a total winning of $5000.00.
Finishing out the top 5 was Tommy Brown (Louisville, TN) and Spencer Brown (Maryville, TN) with 19.88 lbs. and a check for $1,000.00.
They also had 2nd Highest Finishing Lowrance $500 for a total winning of $1500.00

The Jeremy Gordon State Farm Big Largemouth Award went to Cody George / Josh Prince with a 6.76 lb. Largemouth. They received a check for $1050.00 and (2) Rods valued at $200.00
The Jeremy Gordon State Farm Big Smallmouth Award went to Brian Hatfield / Justin Freeman with a 5.66 lb. Smallmouth. They received a check for $1050.00 and (2) Rods valued at $200.00.
The (2) Highest Finishing Gray Insurance Agency teams with insurance through Gray Insurance Agency/Nationwide Lafollette, TN were: Todd Nidiffer/Billy Wheat and Jack Faulkner / Bud Strader. Both teams received checks for $250.00
The (2) Highest Finishing teams with Lowrance Electronics received a check for $500.00. They were Brant Grimm / Bobby Drinnon and Tommy Brown / Spencer Brown.
We would like to “Thank” Pam May (The Roane Alliance), Becky Ruppe (The City of Rockwood), Chase Clem (Rockwood City Parks and Recreation), Rockwood Fire and Police Department, and a Special Thank You to Donna and Jerry Cox at Jerry’s Bait Shop for hosting Rockin On the River Event on Friday with a great turnout.
Our next tournament will be May 20, 2017 on Norris Lake out of Lonas Young Park, Whitebridge Ramp. Signups will be taken starting Monday, May 15, 2017 at Morristown Marine. We will also be taking signups at Imperial Baits in Middlesboro, KY on Thursday May 18th from 10:00 AM until 6 PM. We will be at Lonas Young Park at Whitebridge Ramp on Friday May 19th from 10 AM until 6 PM.
We would like to THANK all the Fishermen and Sponsors that continue to support the #1 Trail in Tennessee and the Southeast. We have had record breaking numbers three out of four tournaments this year. We have paid out a total of $199,975.00 in cash excluding prizes and are averaging $49,993.75 in cash per tournament.
