Gary Keim wins on the Chowan River

April 27, 2019, 10 anglers launched from Shoups Landing on the Chowan River out of Winton, NC. After a tough day of high water and high winds only one of those anglers brought back a five-fish limit to the scales and when the scales closed Gary Keim from Emerald Isle, NC took the victory with 16.08 lbs. Gary said he caught his fish shallow on a frog. For the win, Gary took home $337 in prize money. Gary also had big bass of the tournament with a nice 4.54-pound kicker and earned the big bass pot.
Second amongst the competitors was Miles Hair with 4 fish that locked in the scales at 8.64. Mile said he caught his fish at the mouth of creeks fishing crankbaits. For his efforts, he took home $153 in prize money.

These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers BPSFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the BPSFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, BPSFT National Championship tournament.
