A letter From Chris Lucas Tournament Director

I would like to congratulate all the fishermen that participated in the Anglers Choice Invitational Team Trail for the 2012 season it was a great success once again and a lot of fun to be around a lot of really good anglers. We continue to grow and we are working on ways to grow with you for the 2013 season, stay tuned for this. I would like to congratulate Kenny and Brandon Reynolds as well as Mike Altizer and Mike Pendleton, for the second straight year they have tied for the Jiffy Automotive Points Championship. We will break the tie at the Classic; the team that finishes with the highest weight at the Classic will be declared the points champions for the 2012 season.
I would like to congratulate Kenny and Brandon Reynolds for winning the Jiffy Automotive Big Bag of the Year award. This bag was caught in the first tournament of the year at Smith Mountain Lake when they brought in an impressive 5 fish limit that weighed 23.31 lbs. Geoff Hill and Chris Vaught won the Jiffy Automotive Big Fish of the Year award with an impressive Large Mouth caught at Smith Mountain Lake on June 16 that weighed 7.10 lbs. All of these awards will be awarded at the Classic in October. I believe that we had around 170 teams that qualified to fish in the year end classic for the new Ranger Z118 this year so we should finish off the year with another large field when we arrive at Smith Mountain.
Looking ahead to the Anglers Choice Lunker Challenge sponsored by Triton Boats we have posted the format and rules on the web-site. One change is that each angler that pays an entry fee can submit a fish each day for the daily prizes as well as the Grand Prize a new Triton Boat. This tournament will be in September at Occeneechee State Park at Kerr Lake. Registration has begun and you can contact the dealership to register for this tournament. More details are posted on the web-site.
As we wrap up another season I would like to recognize the people who make this trail happen, my Assistant Director Damien Mcmahon, Administrative Assistant Susan Franklin, Weigh Master Jeff Franklin, Food Operations Manager Lisa Thompson, Field Staff John Schaefer, Carl Smith, Robert Majerick, Phillip Vanderveer, Mary and Randy Carter, IT and Computer Cathy Eades, and other folks that help at each tournament Mike Bryant, Steve Woodruff, Bill Goots, Jeff Smith, Steve Hall. These folks make the tournaments run so smooth and work hard to make an enjoyable weekend for all of you.
Thanks Nick and Sandi Loganadan owners of Anglers Choice I do not need to say anymore for what you do for the fishing industry.
I hope that every team that qualified to fish in the classic can be at the classic, and I really need for every team that is coming to pre-register as soon as possible. This tournament takes quite a bit of planning and the number of teams that are coming plays a big part in that. I need to know how many teams we will have as early as possible. Please help me make this weekend the best we can by pre-registering. Congratulations on another big year and we will see you at the Anglers Choice Lunker Challenge in September.
Chris
