Against Each Other in Competition on Lake Guntersville
CULLMAN, Ala. (May 5, 2019) – In collegiate competition, there’s nothing quite like “Rivalry Week”: when longtime opponents face off in head-to-head competition, with bragging rights, pride (and sometimes a unique trophy) as the ultimate prize.
With the advent of the Major League Fishing® (MLF) College Faceoff, rivalries like Bethel University vs. Bryan College, and Alabama vs. Auburn vs. North Alabama move to playing fields like Watts Bar Lake and Lake Guntersville.
As part of the activities at Bass Pro Tour Stage Four on Lake Chickamauga in April, the first MLF College Faceoff pitted college-fishing powerhouses Bethel University and Bryan College against each other in MLF’s conservation-friendly “catch, weigh and immediate release” format. The competition did not disappoint: the top three teams finished the day with more than 69 pounds of scorable bass on Watts Bar Lake.
The second MLF College Faceoff is today, May 5, as part of the schedule of activities for

the Phoenix Boats Stage Five Presented by Mercury that has been happening this week on Smith Lake in Cullman. Winners will be presented the MLF College Facebook trophy on Stage Five Championship Sunday later this afternoon on the MLF NOW! live stream from Cullman.
The third College Faceoff – the “Battle of the Border” – will feature Drury University, Missouri State, Arkansas Tech and the University of Arkansas, competing independent of a Bass Pro Tour event on May 14 on Bull Shoals Lake in Arkansas.
