The gang is back at it for the final challenge in the Z-Man Project Z on Lake Guntersville. Fishing the previous winter for 3 days on Lake G, David Walker along with Stephen Browning and Luke Clausen have been fishing a selection of Z-Man baits through various challenges and sections of the lake and now the lake has been opened up to the anglers so it will change up the contest for the final episode.

Caylor, Hayes Win Alabama Bass Trail on Eufuala

David Caylor of New Brockton and Allen Hayes of Pell City earned $10,000 for winning the Alabama Bass Trail tournament on Lake Eufaula Saturday. Their five-bass limited weighed 25.19 pounds. The team used homemade black and blue jigs made by Hayes to catch the winning stringer fishing out a little deeper than the competition.

Potential Tennessee Record Spotted Bass Caught by: Jason Sealock

It’s that time of year again. That time where lake, state and world records seem to fall every year. We recently learned of a pending spotted bass record for the state of Tennessee. According to reports, Shane McKee of Cleveland, Tenn. caught a spotted bass from Parksville Lake that weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces on a certified scale. That would break the current record held by FLW Tour pro Wesley Strader of 6 pounds, 7 ounces. McKee is reported to have caught the pending record spotted bass on a jerkbait, although he declined to say which one.

     32 teams came out on a cold Sunday morning to fish the rescheduled Piedmont Bass Classics February 15th snowed out Mini Trail Qualifier #1 at Shearon Harris.
It was a little chilly that morning at 36 degrees and it didn’t warm up until after noon and then only got up to about 56 degrees with a light rain. The wind was mostly light but did gust a few times during the day. Water
temps averaged from 47 to 58. You had to find the warmer water and cast with Chatterbaits, Crankbaits, Jigs,
C-Rigs & Spinnerbaits to get a hit.
Jaime Fajardo & Scott Woodson caught 5 nice bass weighing a total of 22.27 lbs taking 1st Place. They also
won 1st Place TWT for a total of $1,127 in winnings. They are also with the Stratos Boats 2X program and will
probably earn another $749 for fishing out of a Stratos Boat!

     2nd Place went to the team of Chuck Byrd & Seth Ellis with 5 bass weighing 17.06 lbs. They also won the 2nd
Place TWT and took home a total of $599. Big fish for the day weighed 8.84 lbs. and was landed by the team of
David Lynch & Daniel Everwine and paid them $320!!
62 bass were weighed in for a total of 185 pounds. All the bass caught were nice and healthy looking. Harris is
still a hawg hunters paradise! I want to thank all the anglers that participated and all our sponsors that support
these trails.
The next tournament, coming up Saturday March 22nd, will be the
Piedmont Bass Classics Mini Trail
Qualifier #3
at Mayo Reservoir. Our 2014 Boats Unlimited Team Tournament Bass Trail Qualifier #3, will be
Saturday, Mar. 29th at Shearon Harris out of Cross Point Landing Wildlife Ramp.

     34 teams showed up for the 2nd annual Piedmont Bass Classics Hyco Lake Open. We had pretty good weather conditions with about 47 degrees in the morning and about 68 at weighin with winds 5 to 10 mph
gusting to 17 mph during the day. Water temps ranged from 47 to 58 depending on the areas fished and most of the water was really stained from previous rains that week.
Jimmy & James Wall, of Greensboro, took 1st place honors with 5 bass weighing a whopping 31.72 lbs. They won the 1st place money, Big Fish Award (10.43 lbs.) & the Tournament Within A Tournament for a total of $1,602.

Allen Haigh & Doug Washburn weighing in 5 totalling 15.76 lbs., won 2nd place and 2nd place TWT for
a grand total of $670.
97 fish were weighed in for a total weight of 228 pounds. Most fish were caught from 3 to 12 feet of water on
a variety of baits including jerk baits, c-rigs, jigs, spinnerbaits & crankbaits for the most part, and the fish looked very healthy. The hot baits for the day reported to be c-rigs! I want to thank all the anglers that
participated and that supported this tournament.
Our next tournament will be the Piedmont Bass Classics Team Bass Spring Mini Trail Qualifier #3 at Mayo
Reservoir, Saturday March 22nd out of Triple Springs Wildlife Ramp.

Ultimate Match Fishing is set for their return in 2014 on April 6, 2014 at 3 pm EST on the Outdoor Channel with the preliminary rounds taking place on Lake Okeechobee in Clewiston, Fla. and the final matches taking place on Wilson Lake in Florence, Ala.
