Ranger Boats will be represented by several of the worlds top professional anglers when the 2014 Bassmaster Classic is contested on Alabamas Lake Guntersville February 21-23.
The highly-anticipated event draws thousands each year to watch the live weigh ins and attend the Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo. The Expo gives Ranger fans a chance to see the brands 2014 models and meet some of bass fishings most iconic figures.
Tennessee Fishing Guide Rogne Brown is picking up where he left off last year, namely focusing anglers’ attention on Chickamauga, one of the hottest winter destinations in the country for bass fishing. Brown and his fishing partner for the day, Tim Carini, busted an unbelievable limit of 5 bass weighing 49 pounds. Here is the string they weighed:
Phoenix, Arizona-based bass pro Brett Hite recently took tops on the ‘Big O’, weighing a four-day total of 88-14, 6-pounds, 6-ounces heavier than his nearest competitor, fellow Humminbird/Minn Kota pro Greg Bohannan.
The $125,000 win marks Hite’s first on Okeechobee, although he’s no stranger to Florida bass. In 2008 he took first just up the chain on Kissimmee with an FLW record-winning margin of 20-pounds 4-ounces.
Like many west coast anglers, Hite’s at home in deep, offshore situations with finesse tactics, but he’s quickly earned respect as a double threat for his shallow-water power fishing game.
“I really like fishing aquatic vegetation, although I knew nothing about it when I started fishing here in 2000. Now it’s one of my strengths. But the biggest thing is having confidence, doing your homework and fishing hard. I avoid the dock talk. I want real-life feedback from time on the water,” says Hite.
Lanny Ray Deal, currently Director of Sales for Mann’s Bait Company, will be retiring from the company effective March 1 of this year. He will continue to assist the company in a consulting capacity covering several areas throughout the balance of 2014.
Bassmaster Elite Series angler of the year Aaron Martens has moved to Lowrance Electronics. Considered an electronics guru when it comes to professional bass fishing, Martens is happy to be making the transition to Lowrance Electronics for his 2014 fishing season.
Up and coming Bassmaster Elite Series angler Casey Scanlon has signed Texas Roadhouse as his 2014 fishing tournament sponsor.
