SHIMANO DIGITAL CONTROL TECHNOLOGY EXPANDS TO SLX 150 BAITCASTING REEL SERIES

SHIMANO DIGITAL CONTROL TECHNOLOGY EXPANDS
TO SLX 150 BAITCASTING REEL SERIES

[print_link]

LADSON, S.C. – ICAST 2019 Introduction – Available Now – Early August ‘19 – Shimano’s Digital Control (DC) braking system is now within reach of all anglers and all budgets with the new ICAST award-winning SLX DC 150 series, which are now available at tackle shops throughout the U.S. and Canada. Built on the proven ‘Can’t Stop Fishing’ SLX low-profile platform with a sturdy all-metal HAGANE Body, the reels utilize the same I-DC4 digital brake control system used on Shimano’s popular Curado DC reels to drastically reduces the learning curves for anglers new to baitcasting reels, and also raises the performance level in casting dynamics among experienced anglers.
The new reels include the SLX DC150 and left-hand retrieve DC151 with 6.2:1 gear ratios, the SLX DC150HG and DC151HG with 7.4:1 gear ratios, and the even higher speed SLX DC150XG and DC151XG with 8.5:1 gear ratios.
Be it working lots of water with crankbaits, using fluorocarbon for finesse techniques, skipping docks or casting just about any hard lure or soft bait when dealing with windy conditions, the SLX DC reels feature Shimano’s I-DC4 digital control technology which utilizes a microcomputer to control brake force at every moment of the cast. The unique technology provides everyone from the most avid tournament angler to those who are intimidated by baitcasting reels and the backlashes that can happen to cast smarter by allowing the DC’s microcomputer to monitor spool speed 1,000 times every second and apply the perfect amount of brake to prevent backlashes and maximize distance.
With the I-DC4 braking technology, anglers can fish a variety of lures and in any weather conditions, with limited-to-no adjustments to the reel. There are four external adjustable brake settings depending on fishing situations. The settings are a ‘max distance mode’ for ultra-long casts in calmer conditions; a ‘braid/mono mode’ for general all-around use of those types of lines; a ‘fluorocarbon mode’ that is best when using these denser lines; and a ‘max brake mode’ for challenging casts (under docks and piers) or extreme conditions, and also the perfect mode for those who now want to fish with the advantages provide by baitcasting reels.
“The main concept behind the SLX DC reels is all about enhancing the casting experience with little if any problems, and no fishing downtime, by virtually eliminating backlashes,” said Shimano product planning manager Trey Epich. “Anglers quickly found the advantages of our DC braking system in the award-winning Curado DC reels, along with the reliability of our SLX baitcasting reels when they arrived at tackle stores in 2018, and while you won’t find some of Shimano’s higher-end features like MicroModule gears and X-Ship in the SLX DC reels, they do provide a more enjoyable fishing experience due to Shimano industry-leading technology.”

Within the SLX DC design, anglers will notice the overall lightweight feel from the aluminum frame, a strong and easy-to-palm rigid HAGANE body, A-RB anti-rust bearings, and a tournament performance long handle. Anglers can have complete confidence in the SLX DC performance whether fishing for bass in any location and condition, or pursuing inshore saltwater action for redfish, sea trout, calico bass, permit, and snook.
“Any angler who has what we describe as a ‘control freak’ attitude when it comes to fishing and their fishing reels with thoroughly enjoy a day on the water with an SLX DC reel,” notes Shimano’s Kurt Mazurek, both an avid bass angler and a key player in Shimano’s efforts to introduce to the new reels to accomplished tournament anglers, the ever-growing high school and college bass fishing team scene, and those who simply have been scared off of baitcasting reels due to backlashes. “At Shimano, we know there are conditions when fishing that can’t be controlled, with we can offer anglers the ability to have complete control over their casting with the features found in the SLX DC reels.”
All six SLX DC reels will hold from l50 yards of 20-pound test and up to 105 yards of 40-pound test standard PowerPro braid, or up to 120 yards of 10-pound test and up to 90 yards of 14-pound test mono. The DC 150/151 cranks in 26 inches of line per rotation, while the DC150HG/151HG reels in 31-inches per crank. The DC150XG/151XG blisters in 36 inches of line per crank. All the reels feature the distinct SLX series black frame with blue accent colors on the spool and cast control knob. They all retail for $189.99.

Teigen Solves Changing Mississippi River for Bassmaster Central Open Win

LA CROSSE, Wis. — The Mississippi River delivered two surprises to Devin Teigen, who won the Basspro.com Bassmaster Central Open with a three-day total weight of 43 pounds, 3 ounces. The most significant delivery was the opportunity for the Nelson, Wis., angler to hold a first-place trophy in the first B.A.S.S. event he ever fished.

“It feels like a dream; can somebody pinch me?” Teigen said. “I never saw this coming.”

En route to claiming the win, Teigen had to reckon with changing river conditions that required a new game plan. After several weeks of high water, the Mississippi lost about 3 1/2 feet since the weekend prior to the tournament. This repositioned fish and shook up several of the patterns that had been working in the higher conditions.

“A week and a half ago, I felt pretty good with smallmouth stuff — until I saw the forecast for the river dropping,” he said. “The first day, I was going to run it and see what happened and I literally caught five smallmouth before 7:30. Luckily, four were good ones.”

Day 2, the river proved less generous and, with no fish in his livewell at 11 o’clock, Teigen shifted gears to a largemouth pattern — throwing frogs into shallow vegetation. Quickly securing three keepers in Pool 7, he returned to Pool 8 and finished his limit.

“I ran that pattern today and caught 15 keepers,” Teigen said. “They were all good quality fish. I only weighed one fish because the first four that I flipped into the boat, I thought they were all over 3 pounds.”

Teigen caught his winning fish on a Spro Bronzeye frog. He threw frogs with white, yellow and darker bellies, with the lighter baits producing most of his bites. Teigen fished a 7-6 heavy rod with braided line.

Teigen placed ninth on Day 1 with 13-15 and held that same spot a day later by adding 12-7. Adding 16-13 — the tournament’s heaviest bag — on Day 3 sealed the deal. Admittedly, a big loss earlier in the day had Teigen concerned he may have seen his opportunity wither.

“I started the day with three frog rods on my deck and after two hours, I had one left,” he said. “I messed up the reel on one and with the second one, I threw into a little pocket in the duck weed, the fish boiled on it one time and I could see it was a good one, so I threw back in there.

“He smoked the frog and when I gave it to him, my rod blew up in three places. It broke right at the reel seat, so I had no way to fight the fish. I tried pulling it in with my hand and it came off.”

Fortunately, Teigen amassed enough weight to secure the victory and a $39,600 prize by an 11-ounce margin.

Mike Brueggen of La Crosse, Wis., finished second with 42-8. He placed 15th on Day 1 with a limit of 13-9 and rose to fourth the next day by adding 14-15. Capping his performance with 14 pounds pushed him up two more spots.

Brueggen caught his bass on a 1/4-ounce white swim jig with a boot-tail trailer and a variety of topwater frogs. The week’s changing conditions pulled the fish out of more accessible areas, but Brueggen said he still had to mind his stealth.

“I had to stay away, cast far and get them to react to the moving bait,” he said. “I spooled the reel every time. Speed was key, but it’s hard not to tight-line them when they bite, so it was kind of a fine line.”

After leading for two days, Wes Logan of Springville, Ala., finished third with 42-4. After catching his fish on a 5/8-ounce Dirty Jigs Scott Canterbury Flipping Jig, Logan switched to a frog today when he realized his big-fish bait was unproductive.

“When I got bit today, it was a 2-pounder instead of a 3- or 4-pounder like the last two days,” he said. “I knew I probably couldn’t win the tournament on a frog, but I had to make sure I didn’t fall on my face. I thought I could catch some 2-pounders and I finally caught five.”

Kenta Kimura of Osaka, Japan, won the Phoenix Boats Big Bass honors with a 5-8.

Fernando, Lobato of Sparta, Wis., won the co-angler division with 20-8. His daily weights of 7-1, 6-11 and 6-12 earned him a $19,800 first prize.

“I think the key was that I practiced for this tournament by watching were I saw the pros practicing,” Lobato said. “I would go fish right behind them and try to figure out how to get bites behind them.

“I found a couple of baits that would get those extra bites. I fished a Zoom Speed Craw on the back of a 1/4-ounce swim jig and on a Carolina rig. I think that smaller profile was key.”

Thaddaeus Vettrus of Chippewa Falls, Wis., won the Phoenix Boats Big Bass lead among co-anglers with a 4-4.

Bethel University Makes Final-Day Charge To Win Bassmaster College National Championship

[print_link]

DAYTON, Tenn. — Carter McNeil and Cole Floyd of Bethel University were stuck in second place for the first two days of the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops.

But during Saturday’s final round, they seized the spotlight and scored a come-from-behind victory on Lake Chickamauga.

McNeil and Floyd caught a five-bass limit Saturday that weighed 16 pounds, 3 ounces. That was their lightest bag of the week by nearly 5 pounds, but it gave them a 59-11 total, which was enough to sneak past Bryan College’s Cole Sands and Conner Dimauro for the title.

Sands and Dimauro led the first two days before slipping into second place with weights of 14-4 Saturday and 58-8 for the tournament.

McNeil and Floyd, who won a regular-season event on Arkansas’ Bull Shoals Lake earlier this year, collected $5,000 for the Bethel fishing team with the victory at Chickamauga, including $2,500 from B.A.S.S. and $2,500 from Carhartt. The Top 12 teams split a total purse of $24,000.

The victors jumped into the title fray with 22-6 Thursday, followed by a 21-2 limit a day later. While those weights positioned them for a shot at a championship, it was a spot on Chickamauga they didn’t fish until Saturday morning that proved to be the difference between winners and runners-up.

“If we don’t stop there this morning, we probably don’t win,” Floyd said. “Just the way it was laid out was good. It was the same depth we had been fishing (about 6 to 8 feet), but there was current there that came into play. There was grass. That place was the highlight of the tournament.”

McNeil and Floyd located their newfound water late Friday and headed their first thing Saturday. They quickly boated five keeper bass, using a Texas-rigged Zoom Ol’ Monster in plum and tequila sunrise colors.
They said those same worms were effective Thursday. But on Friday, a white and chartreuse spinnerbait was what the bass were biting.

McNeil said being in second place until the final weigh-in took the pressure off him and Floyd.

“Sometimes it’s easier being in second,” McNeil said. “You sleep a little better at night. You know you have nothing to lose.”

For Sands and Dimauro, however, second place was a disappointing end to what had been a phenomenal first two days.

The tandem from Bryan College, located in Dayton just a few blocks from Lake Chickamauga, jumped to the lead Thursday with a tournament-best bag of 24-9. They followed with a limit of 19-11 a day later, but their Saturday weight slipped like most of the 12 teams who made the cut.

The Bryan duo was gracious in defeat.

“It’s been an awesome week, but (McNeil and Floyd) deserve this,” Sands told the crowd gathered at Saturday’s weigh-in.

“A big shout out to those guys,” Dimauro added. “If we’re going to lose to anyone, it’s gonna’ be those guys. They’re the best in the game.”

The victory capped a fantastic week for Bethel, which is located in McKenzie, Tenn., about 250 miles west of Dayton.

McNeil and Floyd’s victory marked consecutive years that Bethel anglers won the College Series national title. Cody Huff and Garrett Enders won in 2018, and they finished third this week at Chickamauga with a three-day total of 55-2.

Also, Bethel’s KJ Queen and Dax Ewart were announced as winners of the Series’ Team of the Year for finishing first in the 2019 points standings.

The Top 4 teams in the championship (eight anglers in all) advanced to the Bassmaster College Classic Bracket event, which will be held Aug. 27-29 at Watts Bar Lake, also in Tennessee. They will compete individually in a head-to-head format with a berth in the 2020 Bassmaster Classic at Alabama’s Lake Guntersville going to the winning angler.

McNeil and Floyd fished in the 2017 Classic Bracket, and Huff and Enders competed in the 2018 event. It will be the first College Classic Bracket for the Sands/Dimauro team, as well as for Tyler Christy and Trey Schroeder of Illinois’ McKendree University, who finished fourth at Chickamauga this week. They were in 12th place heading into the final round, but jumped into the Final Four with an 18-7 limit that was the heaviest of the day.

Michigan State angler Riley Welch, who competed alone in the championship, won the Carhartt Big Bass Award and a $500 gift card for the 9-14 lunker he caught Friday. Sands and Dimauro’s 24-9 limit Thursday earned them the Bass Pro Big Bag Award and a $250 gift certificate.

A total of 116 teams from 62 schools competed in the Championship. Bryan College, the City of Dayton and Fish Dayton hosted the event.

Rock Out With The All-New Heavy Metal Tungsten Line Up

Rock Out With The All-New Heavy Metal Tungsten Line Up

[print_link]

The Heavy Metal Tungsten brand celebrates this metal with another awesome form of metal: Rock & Roll. Tungsten is the most precious metal to all fishing enthusiasts, for its increased sensitivity and durability. Through head-banging rock and all the themes associated with it, Heavy Metal Tungsten forms one of the most electric brands of jigs and jig heads are known to anglers today. With a rockin’ product for almost any terminal technique, the Heavy Metal Tungsten lineup will provide you with hardworking, longlasting, and environmentally baits specifically designed to help you catch the bigguns.

Heavy Metal Dropshot Weights

Heavy Metal Tungsten

The most popular drop shot weights are the ball-shaped sinkers, but there are times when you need a stick-shaped weight for catching bass around specific types of cover. The stick weight can be considered a finesse sinker because its slender shape allows it to slide through grass, brush or other thick covers without snagging. You can also drop shot with this weight along bottoms with boulders because it slips easily through the rock crevices whereas the ball-shaped weight tends to roll and get stuck in narrow cracks. The stick weight is also ideal for drop shotting in heavy current because the cylinder shape allows the weight to drift with the flow and tick the tops of the rocky bottom without rolling down into the rocks where it can get snagged.

Heavy Metal Bullet Weights(Flipping And Worm)

Heavy Metal Tungsten

A bullet weight sinker can be used in virtually any presentation but you’re two most popular bass applications will be flipping and pitching or fishing a Texas rig. When flipping or pitching you tight to cover or dense vegetation, make sure to peg your rig. When unpegged, your bullet weight sinker will slide up your line and free fall when fished. This slows the baits fall rate while also helping make your plastic look like it’s chasing a baitfish (the bullet weight). We all know bass are competitive so this can also help trigger strikes.

Carolina rigging a tungsten sinker is ideal for dragging along soft bottom like sand or mud. Tungsten weights will also shine when fished near hard structure like shell beds, rocks, and gravel bottoms. The added sensitivity will help increase noise and sensitivity. Drop a tungsten weight and a lead weight on some blacktop or concrete and you’ll be able to hear the difference these two metals will make.

Heavy Metal Shakey Head/ Ned Heads

Heavy Metal Tungsten

Tungsten ned rigs and shaky heads will help you provide a downsized profile while getting your bait down to the bottom quickly. Target shallow water with the lighter Ned Rig models in the 1/8 and 1/10 oz sizes and step up to the heavier models in deep water, heavy wind, or current.

The shaky heads will be best served offshore when fishing points, reefs, humps, saddles, and other structure where bass roam. Whether you’re marking fish on a graph or just have your eye on juicy looking point, tie on the Heavy Metal Tungsten Shaky Head.

Heavy Metal Football Jig

Heavy Metal Tungsten

Offshore fishing is the most popular use case for football jig fishing. By design, football jigs are meant to be fished around rocks and structure typically in deep water. The football-shaped head helps the jig head rock-n-roll through rock, timber, and other offshore cover or structure. Make long casts with the Heavy Metal Tungsten Football Jig confidently knowing that its light weed guard and the sticky sharp hook will help you pinfish with long-distance hook sets.

Bryan College Is One Round Away From Winning The Bassmaster College National Championship

[print_link]

DAYTON, Tenn. — Bryan College anglers Cole Sands and Conner Dimauro dipped into their vast
knowledge of Lake Chickamauga once again Friday and maintained their lead in the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Championship presented by Bass Pro.

Sands and Dimauro caught a limit of five bass that weighed 19 pounds, 11 ounces. Added to Thursday’s weight of 24-9, they have a two-day total of 44-4 that gives them a 12-ounce lead over Bethel University’s Carter McNeil and Cole Floyd (43-8) heading into Saturday’s final round.

Bryan College is located only a few blocks from Lake Chickamauga and Dayton Municipal Park where takeoffs and weigh-ins are being held this week. The Bryan team practices and competes on the lake year-round, which provides its anglers an edge no others in the championship field enjoy.

Still, no team (including the four other Bryan College tandems in the tournament) have produced quite like Sands and Dimauro so far. The leaders didn’t catch another 7-15 lunker like Sands had Thursday, but Friday’s catch was consistent — a quintet of 4-pounders that puts the duo in prime position to clinch a national title on home water.

“We’ve got hundreds, if not close to a thousand waypoints on this lake,” Dimauro said. “We had a decent practice, but we’ve been able to narrow things down and target some key areas. We have to keep our heads down and not get psyched out. We’re not spending too much time running. We’re just fishing a lot, which I think is the right thing to do.”

Sands and Dimauro have utilized a variety of techniques and lures to boat their best bass. They didn’t divulge their methods, but they noted that clear skies over the Volunteer State have aided their cause.

“We were with a camera guy today and we told him ‘Get ready, we’re about to catch a big one,’” Sands said. “When that sun got out, it was right (for us). We’re praying for one more day with conditions just like this.”

McNeil and Floyd stayed in second place with a 21-2 limit Friday to go with the 22-6 they weighed a day earlier. Despite the similar weights, the Bethel duo said they found conditions to be vastly different on Friday.

“We started out a lot slower than we did the first day,” Floyd said. “We ended up getting one of the right bites we needed with a 6-pounder early. We caught another good one, but then we were stuck on two for a long, long time. It was a grind.

“We wound up having four of the right ones and a little one.”

McNeil said one more big bite on Friday could have been enough for the tournament lead. They believe they found an area late in the day that could produce quality bites, and they’ll target that spot to begin the final round Saturday.

“There definitely are big fish (at Chickamauga,)” McNeil said. “Right now, it’s just getting the number of quality bites (to catch them.)”

Dalton Combs and Jack Rankin of Missouri’s Drury University weighed the heaviest bag Friday (22-11) and are in third place overall with a two-day total of 38-0. Their Day 2 limit was buoyed by an 8-9 kicker that Combs said he caught on his last cast of the day.

“I caught a 9-6 in practice and I thought this fish today was bigger,” Combs said. “It was close. I caught it doing the same thing on the same bait.”

They’ll target more big bites and hope to close the gap on the top two teams.

“This is Chickamauga,” Rankin said. “Anything’s possible.”

Just ask Michigan State angler Riley Welch, who didn’t weigh a fish Thursday, but rebounded Friday with the Big Bass of the tournament to date — a 9-14 lunker that was a personal best.

“I caught a bunch of 14-inch fish yesterday,” Welch said. “That was disappointing. Today, I was just chucking a big swimbait and I got that one to bite. It’s a nice way to end my tournament. I’ll drive home with a smile on my face.”

The field of 116 teams was cut to 12 after Friday’s weigh-in. The Top 4 of those dozen teams (eight anglers in all) will advance to the Bassmaster College Classic Bracket event to be held Aug. 27-29 at Watts Bar Lake, also in Tennessee. They will compete individually in a head-to-head format there with a berth in the 2020 Bassmaster Classic at Alabama’s Lake Guntersville going to the winning angler.

The Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Championship presented by Bass Pro resumes Saturday with takeoff from the Dayton Boat Dock at 6:40 a.m. ET. The final championship weigh-in is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at Point Park.

Bryan College, the City of Dayton and Fish Dayton are hosting the event.

Logan Holds Lead At Bassmaster Central Open For Second Straight Day

LA CROSSE, Wis., — Wes Logan of Springville, Ala., backed up his Day 1 leading weight of 16 pounds, 10 ounces with a Day 2 catch of 15-3 to maintain the top spot at the Basspro.com Bassmaster Central Open on the Mississippi River with a two-day total of 31-13.

“I had the chance to have a really big bag today, but I had some missed opportunities,” Logan said after losing a bass he estimated at 5 pounds Friday. “I’m still not getting many bites; I only caught eight or nine fish today.”

Weighing a mixed bag of smallmouth and largemouth, Logan said the key to his success has been targeting areas of strong current, where fish are staking out feeding spots near water-deflecting structures. He caught his fish from three different spots within an area about 2 to 3 miles long, but could not locate the optimal scenario elsewhere.

“I weighed in three of today’s fish from the same stretch where I caught two or three fish yesterday,” Logan said. “I hope it keeps replenishing.

“I tried to expand on my area today in case I make it to the final day, but it just doesn’t set up the same,” he said. “I came back to my area and caught a 3-pounder, so I guess I’m going to bunker in there tomorrow and fish it for all it’s worth.

The same mix of reaction baits and slower presentations Logan used on Day 1 produced again today. The biggest difference was that he got by on one trolling motor battery.

The current in his area is so strong Logan is unable to drift fish his spots. The most effective technique — using his Minn Kota Ultrex to hold himself in the flow — drained one of his Day 1 trolling motor batteries.

“I got up twice last night to put a single charger on my batteries, while my main charger was running to make sure they got as full as they could.”

Logan said he enjoyed his better action in the morning. The bite seemed to die around noon, with another afternoon flurry.

“They’re biting everywhere, but I think they set up better where you can catch them later in the day,” Logan said.

As for his Day 3 expectations, Logan had this to say: “I’m just looking for five bites; I’m not going to catch 40.”

Kyle Dorsett of Odenville, Ala., is in second place with 29-3. His daily weights of 14-9 and 14-10 were the event’s most consistent, but Dorsett said his catches are simply a result of grinding.

“I think I have a couple of areas that have some fish, and I’m just putting my head down and fishing,” he said. “There were a lot of boats in my area today, so I had to make a little adjustment. I caught three of the ones I weighed in today differently than I caught them yesterday.

“I have a little deal figured out how I can catch them on a topwater. It’s not really obvious; it took me five days of practice to figure it out.”

John Engler of Vinton, Iowa, is in third place with 28-12. After weighing 12-12 on Day 1, he turned in a significantly stronger Day 2 performance with a 16-pound limit — the day’s biggest bag.

“I went to Pool 9 today; yesterday I stayed on Pool 8,” Engler said. “Pool 9 just offered new water for me; Pool 8 got beaten up pretty bad all week with a lot of boats and I just wanted to get away from them.

“It wasn’t a fast bite. It was one here, one there. I was flipping points and grass banks.”

Kenta Kimura of Livingston, Texas, is in the lead for Phoenix Boats Big Bass honors with his 5-8.

John Goebel of Lumberton, Texas, leads the co-angler division with 14-0. Adding 6-6 to his 7-10 from Day 1, he described a slow, grind that yielded only three bites.

“Fortunately, I was able to fish clean today,” Goebel said. “The plan was to go down to Pool 7 today, but the traffic didn’t allow us to make that run. It was a tough day for me, but I was able to get three decent fish. I caught all of my fish on a finesse rig over shell beds.”

Thaddaeus Vettrus of Chippewa Falls, Wis., holds the Phoenix Boats Big Bass lead among co-anglers with a 4-4.

Saturday’s takeoff is scheduled for 6 a.m. CT at Veterans Freedom Park. The Top 12 remaining anglers will weigh in back at the park at 2 p.m.

The event is hosted by Explorelacrosse.com.

Saturday July 27th, 2019 ~  ~ Jordan Lake ~ ~ Farrington Point Wildlife Ramp

45 boats fished today in the PBC Cashion Fishing Rods ‘End of Year’ Team Tournament Bass Fishing Trail  Qualifier #2 at Jordan Lake. The weather was great and some nice fish were caught!  Surface water temps were  around 84 degrees and the weather was great, light wind and temps run from 64 to 84.
Ben Cannon & Heath Toler won with 5 bass weighing a total of 23.11 lbs. and also took 1st Place TWT for a total of $1,778 in prize money!
  Cannon left..Toler right.
The 2nd Place team of Tony Fofi & Kendall Dail caught another 5 fish limit of bass weighing 22.08 lbs. and along with winning the 2nd Place TWT they took home $906 in winnings. The 3rd Place Team of Seth Ellis & Doug Stallings had 5 bass weighing 20.55 lbs. to take home $504 in winnings. The Team of Michael Vaughan & Tony Barham (Sub) won 1st Place Big Fish (8.31 lbs.) worth a total of $616!!! There were a good
number of 6 and 7 pounders caught today! Most all the teams weighed in fish and stated the bite was tough!!

115 bass were brought to the scales and most looked very healthy! Topwater early, worm rigs, jigs, crankbaits & spinnerbaits in 10′ to 12′ of water on channel dropoffs seemed to be the lures of choice.

I want to thank Cashion Fishing Rods and all the anglers that participated.
