I have been an avid angler for over 40 years and have fished in many tournaments. Looking forward to competing in 2018 in the T-H Marine BFL in addition to other tournaments.
In addition, I help with the Reel American Heroes Foundation and their Annual Fishing Tournament for our Wounded Heroes. I am also a board member of the Friends of the Rappahannock River Valley Wildlife Refuge and help with the Free Kids Fishing Day each June in addition to other activities.

CHASE TANNERchase-tanner

I feel at home on the river, primarily because I’ve been in and around them my whole life. I gained a healthy respect for fish conservation and fly fishing through my father. Undoubtedly the same principals passed down from his father before him and same ones I’m working to instill in my own daughter. I have spent most of my life chasing trout and smallmouth bass on the fly in the moving waters of Virginia. More recently, I have found myself enamored with all things kayak fishing; most specifically kayak tournament fishing and chasing the trophy species of Virginia from said watercraft. I still find myself wetting a fly for fun every now and then, but most of my fishing is now done by rod and reel, specifically targeting Smallmouth Bass in the James and New Rivers. It is my hope that the tidbits I share here will help people better themselves as fisherman and as conservationist.
