Co-Angler of the Year off to good start at Forrest Wood Cup

GAINESVILLE, Ga. – Showing the stuff that earned him the FLW Tour Co-Angler of the Year title, Nick Hensley pulled ahead of the field to lead day one of the Forrest Wood Cup on Lake Lanier.

Six weeks after clinching his title with a second-place finish in the FLW Tour Major event on Lake Champlain, the Cummings, Ga. competitor caught a 5-bass limit that weighed 12 pounds, 2 ounces and put him atop the co-angler field. Not that he needed any stimulus, but fishing with past Forrest Wood Cup champion Dion Hibdon was, no doubt, motivational.
