Jarabeck Jumps into Lead – 2014 Forest Wood Cup – Lake Murray (Aug. 14-17, 2014)

Date:

Jarabeck Jumps into Lead

15.Aug.2014
First time could be the charm for rookie Forrest Wood Cup pro Philip Jarabeck. The Castrol pro from Lynchburg, Va., followed up a slow first day in which he caught only three keepers with a day’s best 17-pound limit on Friday. Jarabeck not only leapt 18 places in the standings, but he also took over the tournament lead from his uncle and fellow Castrol pro David Dudley. He’ll take a half-pound lead into the weekend on Lake Murray in FLW’s flagship event, which is presented by Walmart and hosted by Capital City/Lake Murray Country.Only the top 20 pros will fish in Saturday’s competition. Takeoff ceremonies at Dreher Island State Park begin at 6:30 a.m., and competition begins at 7.

The top 20 includes four former Cup champions who hope to become the first-ever two-time Cup winner in FLW history. They’ll weigh in at 5 p.m. at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, S.C., and the top 10 pros after Saturday’s weigh-in will square off in the final round on Sunday.

Check back soon for a complete report of the top five pros.
