It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Toby Keith, the beloved owner of Luck ‘E’ Strike Lure Company, after a battle with stomach cancer. Despite owning the company for a short time, his influence on both the music industry and bass fishing will be remembered and cherished forever.

“Tying those two together in an American lure company known for making outstanding bass and crappie lures at great prices is so exciting,” said Jimmy Houston, Luck ‘E’ Strike endorser and long-time friend of Keith. “As his friend, I’m happy seeing the fire in his eyes over this company. It’s a big deal for the fishing industry as a whole to have him involved and bringing this brand back to where it ought to be.”

Keith’s passion for both music and bass fishing was evident throughout his career. As a country music icon, he captivated audiences with his heartfelt lyrics and unforgettable performances. Simultaneously, his love for bass fishing drove him to seek opportunities to contribute to the industry’s growth and success.

In recent years, Luck ‘E’ Strike Lure Company faced significant business struggles. However, Keith’s determination and commitment to the sport of fishing motivated him to take on the challenge of revitalizing the brand. He shared, “I’ve got a house on a lake where they hold a lot of fishing tournaments, and I became friends with Jeff [Williams], who has built two big tackle brands.
