Jason Suggs & Britten O’Quinn Win Piedmont BASS Classic $10,000 Spring Bass Trail Qualifier #7 May 30th 2015

Saturday May 30th, 2015 ~ Falls Lake ~ Ledge Rock Wildlife Ramp

Another beautiful day bringing a large crowd to fish the PBC Final Qualifer #7 at Falls Lake. Temps in the am were around 69 and up to about 89 in the afternoon. The wind today was mostly light and water temps averaged 84. Most of the 76 teams that caught the bigger bags said the bite was fairly deep with some coming from water up to 20 foot. Summertime crankbait pattern here for sure!

Jason Suggs & Britten O’Quinn won the honors with 5 bass weighing a nice 27.31 lbs. along with 1st Place in the TWT and took home $2,550 in winnings. Points leaders at this time, Jaime Fajardo & Josh Hooks, widened their points lead with a 2nd place finish of 5 fish weighing 24.71 lbs. They also won the 2nd place TWT bringing their winnings to $1,315. The 9th Place team of Jerry Marshburn and Chuck Byrd took the Big Bass honors with an 8.20 lb. bass and took home a total of $1,309. The prize money really got spread around giving quite a few teams a nice payday!!! 293 fish were weighed in for a total of 948 pounds for an average of 3.23 lbs. each. The bite was really good with most all of the teams catching some bass. We had 12 teams with 20 lb. sacks and the other 3 winning teams were right there at it! Most of the fish were caught on crankbaits and worm & jig rigs in deeper water off points and channel dropoffs. This was our final qualifier for the PBC $10,000 Spring Trail and I want to thank all the anglers that participated and all our sponsors that support this trail. It was a great success again this year and with our new title sponsor for 2016 it should be better than ever!!! Coming up June 6th will be the Cashion Fishing Rods Spring Team Bass Mini Trail Championship at Shearon Harris out of Cross Point Landing. This is just for qualified teams only and is not an open event. Spectators are more that welcome to attend the weighin at 3pm that day!
