KastKing Speed Demon Rod Review By Jason Sealock

KastKing launched a wide array of rods and reels for all types of fishing a few years ago, and since then, we have had more requests for reviews of their rods and reels because of their budget pricing. I have been fishing with the Speed Demon rod some this year, and for a $79 rod, I have been pleasantly surprised.

They offer 11 rods in the Speed Demon line with 9 casting models and 2 spinning models featuring Fuji reel seats and guide seats with Fuji Concept O hard aluminum oxide guides with 3A cork handles. The rods feature a black Dimensional 16 Blank with red accents throughout. They even offer some S-glass models in the line-up for old school cranking with a more parabolic bend.

The Speed Demon line offers a very affordable, durable rod with a lot of lifting power without sacrificing too much in sensitivity or aesthetics. I fished these rods from the bank, in johnboats and of course out on the big waters in my Phoenix 920XP. It’s been one of the rods I keep in my truck and take traveling on filming and fishing trips this year. I have a soft spot for what I call “beater” rods that you just throw in the bed of the truck and have in case you pass an enticing piece of water that is calling out for a frog to be cast into it.
