B.A.S.S. Nation Leadership Nominations

[print_link]

In the spirit of 2020 nominations, campaigns, and an election…the view in B.A.S.S. Nation Virginia is no different. Due to COVID-19, Board Members virtually gather and meetings aren’t held face-to-face in Clarksville, VA as they are accustomed to. However, meeting protocols exist for a purpose. At present, an opportunity is open for any club member to nominate an acting Board member to compete for the Federation President seat. By-laws state that after two consecutive terms are served by an elected President, the seat opens for Federation Leadership nominations.

In most changes or pivots in a leadership seat, there is a chatter amongst members about what the future lends to the local membership. Bass Nation fishing comes with an opportunity for a National platform to the sport. Leadership will always influence connections, sponsors, discounts, and relationships to that coveted chance. Transparency in the use of membership dues, and what the club can deliver in value to fisherman is imperative. Hey, membership dues sign the checks on leadership decisions too!
With tournament circuits competing for the angler’s dollar, and a decline in federation membership…is the answer refreshed leadership? Is there an appeal to the modern angler? Is the Federation positioning anglers for a national competitive platform adequately? Appeal and branding are ever-apparent on the big-stage of fishing… capitalizing on the voice of the Federation could be a viable path. I know that my personal engagement to the local Federation would be more active with new approaches and relatable leadership. Be informed, nominate new leadership, and cast your vote. To better understand more about the transition of leadership in the Federation, the By-laws link is here:
