On a cold April morning, 800 anglers came together to fish day 1 of the annual Smith Mountain Lake tradition called the Big Bass Tour. Weights that garnered checks were around the 4 pound plus mark, and a lot of the anglers had a rough day with the weather conditions changing. A few lucky individuals found the big swimbait bite and brought in the big ones. Congratulations to James Earp who found a 6.44 early this morning.
